Vikings vanquish all for 17th League Champions’ crown!

Hakin United are the Pembrokeshire League Division One champions for the 17th time after beating Carew at The Obs today.

The Vikings struck twice in the first 16 minutes, with Gareth Fawcett heading home from a Bradley Barrett free kick, and captain Nicky Woodrow scoring from the penalty spot.

The home side had further chances, but it remained 2-0 and Kristan Bennett was able to celebrate winning the title with his players in his first season as manager.

Merlins Bridge remain second after winning their final league game 3-2 against Pennar Robins.
Joe John, Joe Leahy, and Luke Hayward struck for the visitors, while Jason Donohue and Phill Griffiths replied for Pennar.

But it is West Dragons who will steal the runners up spot if they can beat Hakin at The Obs on Tuesday night – after they beat Tenby 3-2 at home.

Morgan Thomas, Steve Allen, and Jordan Williams got the goals that secured the win, while Sam Christopher continued his superb campaign with a brace for Tenby.

It was easy for Goodwick United at Phoenix Park, as they beat ten-man Monkton Swifts 8-0.
Jonny Horgan starred with five goals, to go with strikes from Llyr Tobin, Karl Hedley, and Jordan Griffiths.

But perhaps the game of the day came at Jesse Road, as host club Narberth picked up a potentially crucial point in a 4-4 home draw with Neyland.

Sean O’Neill had a hat trick for the Bluebirds, and Dafydd Wright also struck, while Justin Harding grabbed a treble of his own for The Nomads and Andrew Kemp also scored.

It means the battle to stay up will go to the wire, with both Narberth and Milford United level on points going into Tuesday night. Narberth host Monkton and Milford go to Tenby for what will be the final game of the season for both.
