The turnaround in form from last season to this one has been quite extraordinary by St Ishmaels who came from behind to secure a thoroughly deserved victory at Tenby.

Tish who found themselves in a relegation dogfight and survived last season have turned their fortunes around and have turned into a team who are capable of beating any side in this division as proud manager Graham Ninnis’ outfit sit fourth in the table.

Tenby were awarded an early penalty which Scott Ferney despatched, but Tish fought back with goals by striker Aaron Hallam and Tyler Shiel as they narrowly led 2-1 at half time.

Midway through the second half skipper Brennan Devonald scored Tish’s third goal which put his side in the driving seat.

Tish continued to control matters and they were rewarded with two further goals through Sol Goodall and Ieuan Hawkins to put the gloss on an excellent victory on the road.

Swifts too strong for Robins to earn derby bragging rights

Monkton Swifts 7 – Pennar Robins 0

Billy Davis (in action earlier in season against Kilgetty) scored twice for The Swifts in derby win over PennarMonkton Swifts proved too strong on the day against derby rivals Pennar Robins as they scored seven goals without reply at to run out comfortable victors at Monkton Lane.

From the offset it was the home side who come out firing, within 4 minutes they found themselves 1-0 up from a rash mistimed clearance the ball fell to Jimmy Russell who made no mistake from all of 10 yards.

Soon after 1 became 2 and again similar mistake allowed Billy Davis to strike and allow the home side to be in total control, Pennar yet to have started. The home side then lost captain Steele to a foot injury.

A good passage of play found tricky winger Davison who set up Grimwood from 30 yards who unleashed one destined for the top corner except for a cracking finger trip save from home keeper Taylor Gullum, the first of many excellent saves from the shot stopper.

It was a key moment as from the resulting corner, Monkton broke up the other end and won a corner of their own for Jay Kilby to swing into the box to allow Liam Butland to head home, unmarked into an empty net after away keeper Protheroe mistimed his attempt at the ball.

A game which could’ve been 2-1, quickly became 3-0. There were other chances for both sides before the break, with Protheroe coming to meet many chances in the box and 1-on-1 saves as well as Gullam saving well low down from Jack Jones’ effort while up the other end Connor Willis cleared off the line from Dylan Davies effort with other chances going begging from Davies and Russell.

After a busy first half 3-0 at the break, mainly down to the work rate and movement on and off the ball from the home side.

In the second half, Pennar started better with settled passages of play, seeing Gullam in action for a couple of quick saves, possibly his best one of the day from an in swinging corner the ball was headed on to Ethan Ball at the back post who connected well first time for his effort to somehow be expertly tipped onto the bar and out to safety.

This was followed again by a home goal through Billy Davis, set up by the hardworking Jason Finnegan who teed up Davis, who finished into the near corner. That fourth goal killed the game and the away side looking for pride.

Dan James was introduced as a new signing in the week after switching from Goodwick, whilst Jones (18) and Wheeler (16) entered the fray for the away side. The former setting up Finnegan for his goal who was destined to be on the scoresheet. Keeper Protheroe shown the only yellow of the game after thinking there was a foul in the build-up.

Late in the game, Jimmy Walker scored the goal of the day with an overhead kick from 12 yards from a corner. Celebration matched it!

Followed by a goal for Dylan Davies who rounded off a 7-0 derby win after wanting it more as well as being better on and off the ball to earn a deserved victory.

Talk about a game of two halves, well that cliché was rather apt as the Road dominated the opening 45 minutes and were rewarded as skipper Matthew Davies scored twice and sandwiched between was Jack Ashman who also found the back of the net.

However, Narberth scored their first just after the break as The Road's Matthew Bowen put the ball into his own net  before substitute Liam Phillips struck his side's second

Eleven minutes later Jacob Layfield was on target with his side’s equlaiser as The Road were struggling to stop Narberth’s momentum.

Steffan Williams added the fourth with ten minutes of normal time remaining before Ifan Rees scored a quick fire brace to secure what seemed like an unlikely victory as they trailed 3-0 at the interval.
