Wilkes’ double sinks Wizards

Jamie Wilkes scored twice to help Monkton Swifts to a thoroughly deserved victory against Merlins Bridge at the Pembrokeshire Village 4G pitch.
 
This win ensured the Swifts moved up to fourth in the table as the Wizards slipped to sixth.
 
Joe Lewis’ Swifts outfit scored two goals in eleven minutes to stun the Wizards. On two minutes the visitors opened the scoring as Jonathan Lee threaded a well weighted through ball to Jamie Wilkes who showed good composure as he slotted past the advancing goalkeeper Daniel Devine.
 
Nine minutes later the Swifts added their second of the clash as Ben Steele curled home an edge of the area free kick into the far corner.
 
The Wizards reduced the deficit in the 21st minute as Devine’s long punt up field found Steffan Williams who raced clear and tucked his effort past Jay Kilby.
 
The Swifts bagged two further goals in added time, Jonathan Lee netted the third, plus it was closely followed by Wilkes’ second goal of the game which wrapped up proceedings.

Rooks beat battling Pennar

Carew grabbed a goal in each half to earn a hard fought victory against battling Pennar Robins at the Gerald Hicks Recreation Ground.
 
The Rooks took the lead in the eleventh minute against the wind as Sam Christopher set-up his elder brother Jack, who made no mistake as he neatly slotted past the advancing Rory Williams.
 
Marcus Griffiths added a crucial 76th minute second goal as the striker rounded keeper Williams following a neat through ball by Tom Rudd.

Game of two halves finishes all square

 

Milford United 2 – Tenby 2

 
This was a game of two halves as both Milford United and Tenby had to settle for a draw at a windswept Marble Hall.
 
Steve Parkes’ Robins led 2-0 at half time, but the visitors pulled back the deficit to return to Tenby with a share of the spoils.
 
Morgan Picton struck the opener with barely five minutes on the clock, four minutes before the interval Wesley Hill was on target for his side’s second.
 
On the hour mark Tenby pulled one back as Rhys Morgan was accredited with the goal thanks to a neat Sam Butler assist.
 
In stoppage time the visitors grabbed a timely equaliser through Sam Butler who was set up by an Adam Muskett assist.

Clarbeston Road scored three unanswered second half goals to run out comfortable winners against rock bottom Fishguard Sports who are relegated.
 
After a goalless first period the Road broke the deadlock in the 51st minute as Ben John struck from inside the box.
 
On the 70 minute mark the hosts were awarded a penalty, up stepped Laurie Haworth who coolly found the back of the net from 12 yards.
 
Matthew Ellis replaced goal scorer Haworth on 70 minutes, just 13 minutes later the vastly experienced Ellis bagged his side’s third goal to secure the points.

Vikings fight back for a draw with Kilgetty

Hakin United came from two down to salvage a draw against Kilgetty at an extremely windy Obs.
 
Kilgetty scored a goal either side of half time to put the Vikings under pressure.
 
On the half hour mark, Brett Evans’ direct 50 yard wind assisted free kick sailed over keeper Aidan Tansey for a superb opener.
 
A minute after the interval the visitors doubled the lead when Jordan Jones’ cross was fumbled by keeper Tansey it allowed striker Steve Thomas to profit with an easy tap-in.
 
The Vikings pulled one in the 54th minute as Leon Luby’s dangerous cross was met by a Mason Dolling clinical far post finish.
 
The Vikings levelled matters in the 70th minute as goal provider Luby turned scorer with a neat shot cum cross.

Rhys Dalling - bagged a hat-trick for Goodwick against Neyland
 
 

Goodwick hit six of the best

 

Goodwick United 6 - Neyland 0

 
Goodwick United returned to the top of the table which puts them on the brink of retaining the title following this six-goal demolition against ten-man Neyland at Phoenix Park.
 
This game was switched from the Athletic Ground, which was unplayable due to the weather, and played at Phoenix Park.
 
The Phoenix Lads relentlessly put the Nomads on the back foot as a Rhys Dalling hat-trick, Nathan Greene brace, also one for Will Haworth earned Chris O’Sullivan’s side the points.
 
It took 42 minutes before Greene opened the scoring, just four minutes later Dalling added the second to ensure Goodwick led 2-0 at half time.
 
Kyle Marsh’s long punt up field set-up Haworth who made no mistake as he rounded keeper Patrick Hannon for the third.
 
Just before the hour Dalling was on target with the fourth as Haworth unselfishly teed him up.
 
In the 85th minute Sean Hannon saw red for a deliberate foul inside the box as the Nomads went down to ten men, Dalling completed his hat-trick from the resultant spot kick for fifth, in the 94th minute Dalling set-up Greene for his second of the match, as the striker glanced home a header from a Dalling’s pinpoint cross for the sixth.
