Kilgetty narrowly beat Tenby in seven-goal thriller

 

Kilgetty 4 – Tenby 3

 
Kilgetty won a highly entertaining seven-goal thriller against close neighbours Tenby at the Kingsmoor Ground.
 
In an exciting opening 45 minutes the hosts narrowly led 3-2 at half time, after the break both sides added a further goal each which saw Kilgetty pick up their fourth win of the season as they sit ninth in the table two points above the relegation zone, whilst Tenby are seventh in the table.
 
Kilgetty bagged tow early goals through Richard Cope and Richard Tebbutt before Adam Muskett pulled one back for the visitors, substitute Steve Thomas added Kilgetty’s third to restore their two-goal cushion, but back came Tenby as Scott Ferney made no mistake from the penalty spot.
 
Skipper Richard Cope added his second of the game with a clinical strike in the 66th minute that put the hosts 4-2 ahead, Jacob Hipkiss was sent off in the 75th minute which reduced Tenby to ten-men, in the 82nd minute Ferney bagged his second goal from the spot, but Kilgetty stayed firm for the remainder to secure the all-important three precious points.

Vikings are back in seventh heaven

 

Hakin United 7 – Neyland 0

 
Second placed in the table Hakin United impressively returned to winning ways with an emphatic seven-goal victory against arch-rivals Neyland at the Obs.
 
After last week’s disappointing home defeat against Clarby Road the Vikings came back in fine fettle against third from bottom Neyland.
 
The Vikings led 2-0 at the break before they added five more in the second half against the disappointing Nomads.
 
Both goals came just before the break as player boss Justin ‘Skinny’ Arnold  benefitted from a Leon Luby cut back, minutes later Shane Walsh found the back of the net following a neat Alfie Stotter cut back.
 
After the interval The Vikings continued to dominate as Stotter drilled in the third on 66 minutes, Ben Aldred then scored two penalties, he sent keeper Patrick Hannon the wrong way twice as they led 5-0.
 
Callum Stannett headed home the sixth before Jay Power completed the rout for goal number seven.

Jones scores twice for Goodwick at Milford

 

Milford United 1 – Goodwick United 3

 
Champions Goodwick United claimed another crucial three points against Milford United to remain unbeaten, this time at Marble Hall.
 
All the goals were scored in the first half, a brilliant move which involved Jake Smith, Rhys Darling, and Dan James finished superbly with Will Haworth who dinked it over Robins’ young keeper Charlie Malloy to open the scoring in the 12th minute.
 
Ten minutes later the hosts were awarded a penalty as Steff Hayes deliberately pulled back Liam Parr inside the box. Parr dusted himself off as he lashed the ball into the net from 12 yards.
 
However, Goodwick rallied before they got their noses in front with a second goal, it was created by well measured Haworth cross which Rhys Jones headed home.
 
Jones added Goodwick’s third in the 34th minute, the midfielder made no mistake from Dan James’ cross cum shot which rebounded off the crossbar for the alert midfielder to tap in home.
 
No further goals in the second period, but the visitors were awarded a penalty in the 92nd minute, Jones stepped up as he struck his shot firmly only for young Malloy who pulled off a stunning save to deny Jones getting his hat-trick.

Swifts defeat derby rivals Pennar

 

Monkton Swifts 6 – Pennar Robins 3

 
Monkton Swifts claimed the bragging rights as they won a high-scoring derby affair at Monkton Lane.
 
The Swifts led 3-1 at the break, plus they won 3-2 in the second period to claim a 6-3 victory.
 
Jamie Wilkes scored the opener for the Swifts on 18 minutes, ten minutes before the interval Cameron Brunton struck to double his side’s lead, Conner Willis pulled one back before skipper Dylan Davies scored with a penalty on the stroke of half time.
 
Ben Steele added the Swifts’ fourth in the 63rd minute before Sean Edmundson found the back of the net for Pennar.
 
Connor Hay came off the bench and bagged two late goals for the Swifts, whilst Edmundson got his second of the game deep in stoppage time to complete the scoring.

Thomas hat-trick earns Wizards bragging rights

Striker Alex Thomas scored a superb hat-trick that helped Merlins Bridge to a comfortable victory against derby rivals Clarbeston Road to claim the bragging rights at the Pembrokeshire Sports Village.
 
The visitors broke the deadlock when Ben ‘Rocky’ John struck the back of the net in the 15th minute, seven minutes later Thomas equalised with a textbook header, in the 31st minute Thomas scored again with his second header which gave the Wizards the lead, in the 37th minute Tomos Gwilliam struck his side’s third.
 
On the hour mark the Wizards added the fourth when Gwilliam played in Thomas who swept home from just inside the box, in the 82nd minute Thomas Jago was on target with goal number five.
