Footballer raises money for charity after having his beard shaved off

Stefano Antoniazzi 2Stefano AntoniazziStefano Antoniazzi's ginger beard has raised a terrific sum for the ‘Bloodwise’ charity.

Stefano is a tough as teak defender with Haverfordwest County since he joined them and  he has quickly endeared himself to the Bluebirds’ faithful fans, not only for his involvement on the pitch but off it as well.

Quickly identified by his distinctively long ginger beard, which has taken three years to grow, supporters have been eager to support him recently, especially with a bucket collection during their Welsh Cup win over Undy Athletic, after he had his red locks shaved off in aid of a terrific good cause that is very close to his heart.

Ten years ago Stefano's dad, who supports him at most of our home games, was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia, which is a cancer of the white blood cells. For the past three years Stefano has been growing his beard to raise funds for ‘Bloodwise’ (formerly Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research).

Stefano’s fund-raising attempt as so far resulted in a total of over £750 and there is still a chance for sports-minded people in our county to add to this terrific total by handing cash in at Haverfordwest County’s office in an envelope, donate on line to the @bloodwise_uk cause or visit @stef_a88's @JustGiving page - justgiving.com/fundraising/St… #Inspirational
