Wizards and Swifts draw as Goodwick beat Fishguard to progress in Senior Cup

Merlins Bridge clear the danger against league leaders Monkton SwiftsThere were five matches completed in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division and one Senior Cup Final quarter final.

Starting in the top match of the day at the Racecourse where Merlins Bridge drew 2-2 with league leaders Monkton Swifts. Joe Leahy penalty and Ashley Beck scored for The Wizards and Ben Steele and Martyn Carroll netted for The Swifts.

Clarbeston Road hammered bottom of the table Saundersfoot Sports Ben John scored goals and team-mates Matthew Davies, Tyler Page, Matt Ellis and 8-1 Joules Ward also scored. Paul Hodge scored a consolation for the struggling Sports.

Hakin United moved up to second in the table following a 7-1 crushing against Pennar Robins at the Obs. Justin Harding grabbed a hat-trick alongside one each for Leon Luby, Adam John, Ashley Bevan and Nicky Woodrow. Connor Roberts was on target with the visitors’ only goal.

Narberth lost 3-6 against Carew at Jesse Road. For the Bluebirds Lloyd Hughes, Karl Jones and an own goal brought up their tally, while The Rooks secured the points thanks to four goals from Scott Ferney and Shaun Whitfield and Fraser Finlay also hit the target.

St Clears narrowly lost 1-2 at home against Neyland. Williams Evans netted for The Saints, but The Nomads secured the points with goals from Jason Griffiths and Jay Kennedy.

In the Senior Cup quarter final clash between neighbours Fishguard Sports v Goodwick United, it was 3-3 after 90 minutes and Goodwick won 6-4 in extra time. Patrick Hughes, Lewis Banks, Matt Harries and Danny Morgan netted for The Sports, but Goodwick settled matters with goals shared by Steffan Williams, Scott Delaney, Ben Adams, Jordan Griffiths, Jordan Thomas and Chris O’Sullivan.
