Wins for Carew, Bridge, Goodwick, Monkton and Neyland on a wet and windy Saturday

Five out of six games were completed in wet and windy weather in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League top flight on Saturday.

Champions Monkton Swifts beat Fishguard Sports 3-1 to stay three points clear at the top of the table. Dylan Davies scored a brace alongside a well taken Ryan Griffiths strike to secure The Swifts the points. Niall Kinsella replied from the spot for the gallant Sports.

Second placed Goodwick United hammered Narberth 10-2 at Phoenix Park. Scoring goals for the ‘Phoenix Lads’ were shared by Jordan Griffiths, Jake Smith and Steff Williams all netting a brace each alongside one each for Rhys Dalling, Mattie Delaney penalty, Kieran O’Brien and Jonny Horgan. The Bluebirds’ goal scorers were player/manager Ryan Williams and Ben John.

Clarbeston Road narrowly lost 2-3 against third placed Merlins Bridge at the Knockfields. Charlie George and Greg Brown were on target for Clarby, but the Wizards sealed the points thanks to Adam Hawkins, Lee Hudgell and Matthew D’Ivry all hitting the back of the net.

Scott Ferney (2) and Shaun Whitfield scored for Carew who beat Pennar Robins 3-1 at home. Josh Hicks scored the visitors’ solitary goal.

Neyland convincingly beat bottom of the table Saundersfoot Sports 5-1 at the Athletic Ground. In form striker Jason Griffiths scored a brilliant hat-trick and team-mate Jay Kennedy struck a brace for on fire Nomads. Jack Franklin scored a superb direct free kick for the visitors who took the lead.

St Clears v Hakin United was postponed.
