In a long and distinguished football career Chris O'Sullivan has relished every challenge but is now almost ready to take another giant step forward as on August 10th he opens his brand new S7 Fitness Suite on the Withybush West Industrial Estate near the County Showground.

Chris played his football in the main with Goodwick United, where he won every piece of silverware available to Pembrokeshire Clubs, including the West Wales Cup. He also enjoyed a decade at the Bridge Meadow Stadium helping Haverfordwest County in the Welsh Premier League and in division one of the Welsh League - and also managed both clubs in his inimitable way.

Catchy name – and splendid facilities on offer

Cardio and Sprint TrackBut that is all behind 'Sully' now as the finishing touches are being applied to the magnificent facilities at S7 Fitness.

"I always played in the No 7 jersey," explained O'Sullivan and since everyone called me 'Sully' I decided to use that initial as another part of the title. It has long been my ambition to set up such a facility and decided that Haverfordwest would be the ideal place.”

The design and lay-out throughout the building was all down to Chris and built to my his own exacting specifications, from the equipment through to the excellent parking facilities before architect Nick James was involved in getting it through planning.

‘It hasn’t been without its hurdles or hard work but the support and team around S7, with Chris’s other directors, has made it possible for this fantastic facility to be delivered to the people.

"I also decided that if I was to take it on it should be of the highest quality and I am delighted with the final outcome, which now includes a coffee shop, a hair-dressing salon and an amazing virtual reality golf experience set up by my old footballing chum Matthew D'Ivry that is sure to be heavily subscribed."

Fraser’s already committed

Indeed, we asked Western Telegraph Sports reporter Fraser Watson and his dad Alan to choose a round from golf courses from Celtic Manor to Augusta, the home of the US Masters, with a choice of weather conditions and other options.

"It was truly amazing," said Watson, "and I can see people queueing up to play on a regular basis."

On the ground floor of a huge building are the high-quality changing and showering facilities, the coffee shop and hairdressing salon, alongside the commercial gym and Olympic Weights area and Fitness Room, where a range of classes will be available and led by experts; as will be the room for spinning enthusiasts that contains the latest static bikes on the second floor, where there are a host of machines to cater from raw novices to extra-keen fitness enthusiasts.

Throw in a 25-metre sprint area and it is clear the Chris has thought of everything, including a range of membership offers to suit every need and everyone's price - and everyone is welcome to pop in on the 10th August to marvel at what is on offer!
