No shocks in the seven clashes played in the top flight

There were no real shocks in the seven games played in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division on Saturday.

League leaders Goodwick United won 4-0 against Herbrandston at Phoenix Park. Jordan Griffiths grabbed a brace with Rob Morgans and Jonny Horgan also hitting the back of the net.

Second placed Monkton Swifts won 2-0 against battling St Clears at Monkton Lane, Ryan Griffiths and Dylan Davies scored the decisive goals for the Swifts.

Saundersfoot Sports narrowly lost 1-2 against third placed Carew at the King George Vth Ground, Iwan Izzard and Lloyd Hughes netted for the Rooks, and Richard Cope scored in vain for the Sports.

Fourth in the table Merlins Bridge convincingly defeated Pennar Robins 5-2 at the Racecourse. Daniel Bryce (2), Richard Hughes, Peter Thomas, Will Haworth scored for the Wizards, and Josh Dearsley and Sam Southcott scored for the visitors.

Fifth placed Hakin United won 2-1 against a spirited Lamphey outfit at the Obs. Nicky Woodrow and Justin Harding scored for the Vikings, and Billy Davies netted for the Stags.

Seventh in the table Clarbeston Road won 7-2 against Milford United at Knock Field. Jason Griffiths (4), Joseph Griffiths (2), and Ben Barrett netted for the Road; Lewys Tee and an own goal was all the Robins could muster and they’re still awaiting their first league point of the season.

Neyland lost 1-3 against Narberth at the Athletic Ground. Will Hughes scored for the Nomads, but a superb hat-trick by Tony Evans secured the precious league points for the Bluebirds.
