Steff Hayes closes down Will Haworth as Goodwick beat the holders Merlins Bridge

It was a day of mixed fortuned for our Pembrokeshire teams involved in the West Wales Cup Third Round and there were two games completed in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division.

Starting in the cup at Phoenix Park saw Goodwick United gain a slender 3-2 victory over 2019 holders Merlins Bridge. Rhys Dalling scored a superb brace alongside a spot-kick from Mattie Delaney. The Wizards stayed in contention with two excellent strikes from Will Haworth and Joe Leahy, but it was The Phoenix Boys who go through to the last sixteen.

Justin Harding scored the only goal for Hakin United who narrowly overcame Ynystawe Athletic 1-0 at the Obs. There were five players sent off in this cup tie, three from The Vikings and two from the visitors.
Pengelli United lost 1-2 at home against Neyland. Wayne Parry and Jason Griffiths struck for the delighted Nomads who march into the last sixteen.

Monkton Swifts lost 1-3 at home against Giants Grave despite Ben Steele giving The Swifts an early lead.
Fishguard Sports were beaten 0-4 at home against the much fancied Penlan Club. Hundleton lost 0-2 at home against Bitchgrove and St Josephs won 7-3 against Clarbeston Road.
