There were five Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division One games and three gripping Senior Cup quarter finals played on Saturday.

Starting with league action, Merlins Bridge thrashed Neyland 9-5 at the Racecourse; Steve McNabney netted five for the Wizards alongside a Joe Leahy hat-trick and a solitary Will Haworth goal. In reply, Justin Harding netted a brace and there was one apiece for Henry Durrant, Wayne Parry and Kieron Howells.

Milford United narrowly lost 1-2 at Marble Hall against Angle. Will ‘Animal’ Goodall gave The Robins an early lead, but the visitors staged a comeback in the second half and secured the points through goals scored by Josh Clarke and Jake Seaton.

Pennar Robins got hammered 2-10 at home to Carew. Leading the rout for The Rooks was Iwan Izzard with a brilliant hat-trick alongside a brace each for Scott Ferney, Jordan Richards, Sean Whitfield and Tom Grover added his name to the score sheet. On a day to forget Jason Donohoe scored a double for the well beaten Robins.

Tenby smashed Johnston 12-1 at the Clicketts, Sam Christopher 4, Jerome Mansbridge 3, Daryl Mansbridge 3, Nathan Patterson and Rob Whitfield netted for The Seasiders, Leigh Walters scored The Tigers’ only goal.
 

Road upset Swifts and Vikings and Phoenix Lads reach last four


There were three Senior Cup quarter finals that went ahead, and Clarbeston Road caused an upset by beating First Division Monkton Swifts 2-1 at home. Richard Bevan scored a brace for delighted Second Division outfit who have reached the last four of the competition, Ben John netted for The Swifts.

Last season’s beaten finalists Hakin United hammered fellow First Division rivals West Dragons 8-0 at The Observatory Ground. Nicky Woodrow 3, Dan Evans 2, Adam John, Bradley Barrett and Ben Steele scored for the rampant Vikings.

Last season’s winners Goodwick United came out on top at Second Division Solva, winning 2-4 at Maesymor. Grabbing the goals for The Phoenix Lads were Rob Morgans, Ben John, Adam Raymond and Sean Seymour Davies. Scoring for The Greens was Dylan John and Daniel Thomas.
