Goodwick win match of day plus West Wales and Senior Cup action

Hakins Jonathan Fawcett beats Goodwicks Rhys Dalling to this headerThere was a mixture of West Wales Cup, Senior Cup and Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division action on Saturday.

Starting with the league, it was Goodwick United who won 2-0 against rivals Hakin United at Phoenix Park. After a goalless first half it was Rhys Dalling who opened the scoring and Matty Delaney added a second from the spot.

Pennar Robins were thumped 1-6 against Fishguard Sports at Bush Camp. Luke Phillips scored for The Robins, but The Sports romped to victory thanks to goals from Steve Lewis hat trick, a brace by Patrick Hughes and a solitary effort by Jake Booth.

Saundersfoot Sports are still awaiting their first point of the season as they slipped to another disappointing 2-5 defeat at the hands of Clarbeston Road. Ben ‘Rocky’ John lashed home a hat trick alongside goals from team-mates Richard Bevan and Joules Ward. Nick Allen a Jack Franklin penalty netted for the luckless Sports.

In the West Wales Intermediate Cup Round 2 ties that were reversed due to the heavy rain. Merlins Bridge slaughtered Gors 16-0 at the Racecourse. Joey Leahy (6), Adam Hawkins (5), Jordan Williams (3), Ben Davies and Nathan Greene scored for The Wizards.

Neyland also reached round three with a comfortable 7-3 win against Tumble United. Scoring for The Nomads were Jason Griffiths (3), Patrick Bellerby (2), Nico Morrison and Max Bowman-Davies.

Senior Cup Round Two ties saw Kilgetty lost 0-4 at home against Monkton Swifts. Ben Steele and Shaun Jones grabbed a brace each for the visitors who progress into the quarter finals.

Narberth lost 0-3 against Carew at Jesse Road. Goals from Jordan Richards, Scott Ferney and Alex Bayley secured The Rooks place in the last eight.
