Late goals seals victory for Robins

Pennar Robins 4 – Narberth 2

Pennar Robins manager Craig Butland delighted Pennar beat NarberthPennar Robins came from behind twice and also scored two late goals to secure victory over Narberth at Bush Camp.

Pennar started the game really slowly and were made to pay when Narberth went ahead in the 14th minute thanks to scoring direct from a free kick from Lewis Bansal that nestled into the bottom far right corner of Clark’s net from 22 yards out.

Chances continued over the top for the away side but keeper Clark was quickly off his line to prevent any opportunities as well as making a couple of good one-on-one saves.

It wasn’t until the half hour mark that the Robins finally woke up and were in the game as they started dominating possession and after a series of corners, Sean Edmundson’s out-swinging corner was met at the near post by Jack Jones, on his first game back of the season after a long injury break. 1-1 at half time.

The start of the second half was a different story as Pennar started on the front foot by hitting the channels for wingers Noah Davison and Nick Willis to make the difference.

But a counter-attack and a lapse of concentration saw Narberth go 2-1 ahead thanks to a 20 yard strike from Steffan Williams just before the hour mark.

Pennar continued with the second half start and hit back ten minutes later as a pinpoint cross from Davison was headed home by the unmarked Sean Edmundson.

Now at 2-2, the game opened up with Pennar going for the win, pushing more men forward meant leaving gaps in defence, it finally paid off as in the 84th minute Nick Willis drilled home from the edge of the box to leave visiting keeper James no chance.

3-2 Pennar, after conceding a last minute equaliser last week against Kilgetty, Pennar knew the game wasn’t done yet. Narberth earning a free kick in the 88th minute on the edge of the box, played in short and nothing came of it.
