Big win for Hakin who are five points clear at top of table
Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League – Division 1
Tenby 0 – Hakin United 3
Hakin United put on an impressive team display to claim victory and complete a league double over fifth in the table Tenby in the only game played in the top flight as a lot of teams from Pembrokeshire were involved in the first round of the West Wales Intermediate Cup.
Back in August, The Vikings narrowly defeated Tenby 2-1 at the Obs and they followed up with this convincing three goal win at a windy Clicketts to open up an early five point lead at the top of the table.
Vikings manager Scott Davies was delighted with his side’s performance which coincided on his milestone 40
th birthday, which he certainly had plenty to celebrate afterwards.
Tenby manager Gareth Noot would have been disappointed his team didn’t play to their full potential because they are a decent outfit.
The visitors played with a strong wind at their backs and they deservedly opened the scoring as the lively Leon Luby crossed for midfielder Jack Griffiths who buried his shot into the back of the net from 12 yards out.
Tenby had a few chances as the experienced likes of Joe Leahy, Scott Ferney and Dan Storer worked tirelessly without any joy.
In the 64
th minute The Vikings added a second goal as defender Camron Thomas ventured forward as he sweetly struck 15 yard effort past the outstretched Noot.
Four minutes later Hakin scored a decisive third goal as skipper Ryan Wilson was in the right place at the right time to make no mistake with a close range tap-in.
