Impressive Goodwick win at the Road

 

Clarbeston Road 0 – Goodwick United 4

 
Goodwick United grabbed two goals in each half to gain an impressive but deserved win at Clarbeston Road.
 
This win sees Chris O’Sullivan’s Goodwick outfit stay two points clear of nearest rivals Hakin United at the top of the table.
 
The visitors got off to a dream  start as they took an early lead as deadly midfielder Rhys Jones struck a 20 yard low drive in the bottom corner of Rhys Mansell’s net.
 
Will Haworth added the second on 32 minutes, Rhys Dalling unselfishly squared the ball to Haworth who made no mistake from inside the box.
 
Jake Smith added the third just before the hour mark, the midfielder cut in from wide out, beat a few defenders for pace before he confidently slotted past the advancing Mansell.
 
Ten minutes from full time the visitors added a fourth when Rhys Dalling struck a wicked volley against the crossbar, the ever alert Haworth struck home the rebound from 25 yards out to complete a good day at the office for reigning champions Goodwick.
 
Next week Goodwick United travel to Cardiff to take on Grange Town in the FAW Trophy.

Vikings ease past spirited Rooks

 

Hakin United 2 – Carew 1

 
Hakin United gained a hard fought victory against spirited Carew at the Obs.
 
All the goals were scored in the opening 45 minutes as the pitch cut up which made life difficult for both teams in the second half.
 
Title seeking Vikings are second in the table as the Rooks sit uncomfortably just above the relegation zone
 
The Vikings opened the scoring in the 24th minute ad Louis Thompson laid a neat ball to Shane Walsh, the striker struck low shot into the bottom corner of Tom Davies’ net.
 
However, the Rooks levelled matters just two minutes later when former Viking Jonty Bennett floated an inviting free kick in the box which Archie Smith volleyed into the back of the net.
 
Back came the Vikings who got their noses in front with a second goal, goal scorer Walsh played a neat pass to Alfie Stotter who chipped Davies, as the keeper was off his line.
 
There were no further goals, but the Vikings created some half decent chances but manager Justin ‘Skinny’ Harding will be happy they collected the three points that were on offer.

Richards bags late double to salvage draw for Neyland

Corey Richards - bagged two late goals for NeylandSuper sub Corey Richards bagged two late goals for Neyland as they gained a draw when all seemed lost against Milford United at the Athletic Ground.
 
The Robins will be kicking themselves as they scored a goal in each half, both scored by striker Liam Parks, to build-up a healthy two-goal cushion.
 
However, fair play to the Nomads they fought back as Richards pulled one back in the 80th minute, then deep in stoppage time up popped Richards who bagged the equaliser, thanks to skipper Mike Chandler who set-up both Richards’ goals.

Bridge sink nine-man Narberth

 

Merlins Bridge 4 – Narberth 0

 
Steffan Williams - scored twice for the WizardsSteffan Williams bagged a brace for Merlins Bridge who comfortably defeated Division Two outfit Narberth who finished the tie with nine men at the Pembrokeshire Sports Village.
 
The Wizards were awarded a soft penalty in the 15th minute that Williams comfortably despatched from 12 yards.
 
In the 53rd minute Tomos Gwilliam doubled his side’s lead and four minutes later goal scorer Gwilliam set-up striker Alex Jones for the third.
 
Bluebirds’ centre back Kyle Quartermaine was given his marching orders after he picked up a second yellow, substitute Gino Dragone teed-up Williams who made no mistake with the fourth.
 
It got worse for the visitors as referee Neill Crawford red carded Narberth manager Ryan Williams also late in the tie Tony Evans picked up his second yellow as he joined teammate Quartermaine for an early shower.
