Miller strikes late winner for Swifts

Monkton Swifts came from behind to gain a thoroughly deserved victory against Clarbeston Road at cold and windy Monkton Lane.
 
Matt Ellis’ Road outfit are currently sat third in the table as the Swifts are in seventh position.
 
Playing down the Monkton Lane slope the visitors took the lead in the 20th minute as striker Jason Griffiths found the back of the net.
 
The visitors held a narrow one-goal lead at the interval.
 
On the hour mark the Swifts levelled matters as Declan Carroll made no mistake from inside the box.
 
In the 79th minute substitute Paul Miller struck the winner to claim the all-important points.

Hundleton comfortably beat derby rivals

 

Pennar Robins 0 – Hundleton 4

 
It was Hundleton who have the bragging rights after a comfortable victory against Pennar Robins at Bush Camp.
 
The visitors picked up their sixth win of the season as they sit sixth in the table and the Robins are in ninth spot.
 
The only goal of a tight first period was scored by striker Billy Davis.

Five minutes after half time the visitors were awarded a penalty that Tom Grimwood pushed wide.
 
Minutes later the visitors doubled the lead as Billy Davis rounded keeper Rory Williams for the striker’s second of the match.
 
Hundleton continued to control matters and were rewarded with further goals scored by Cameron Brunton and Connor Hay.

Wizards cling on for victory at Neyland

 

Neyland 2 – Merlins Bridge 3

 
Merlins Bridge picked up a narrow victory against Neyland at a blustery Athletic Ground.
 
Nomads’ defender Dylan Rowland put the ball in his own net which gave the Wizards a slender 1-0 cushion at the break.
 
Shortly after the interval Will Haworth added his side’s second goal, the visitors didn’t have to wait long before Jordan Williams was on target with the third.
 
In the 65th minute Paul Hannon reduced the deficit from the spot, the same man added a late second for the Nomads, but it was a classic case of too little to late as the Wizards held on for the valuable points.

This bottom versus top of table clash was only going to finish one way and so it proved as Goodwick boosted their goals difference column against struggling Narberth at Jesse Road.
 
The Phoenix Lads have opened a ten-points lead at the top of the summit as second placed Hakin United have three games in hand.
 
Wayne O’Sullivan’s outfit led 10-0 at half time, they added six further goals in the second period, there was some credit for the Bluebirds as Tony Evans bagged a brace.
 
The goals came thick and fast and were shared by Nathan Greene (6), Rhys Dalling (5), Iestyn Evans, Jordan Thomas, Danny James, Jonny Horgan, and Luke Hayward.

Battling Tish cause upset at Sports

 

Fishguard Sports 1 – St Ishmaels 2

 
Brennan Devonald - scored for TishSecond from bottom St Ishmaels caused an upset at fourth placed Fishguard Sports at a windy Tregroes Ground.
 
Tish is fighting for their lives to try and stay in the top echelon; Gerrard Gray’s outfit were thrilled to pick up only their third win of the season.
 
In a tight first half it was the visitors took the lead in the 35th minute as Joel Morgan scored, four minutes later and Brennan Devonald was target with his side’s second to give them some breathing space at half time.
 
Midway through the second half saw Anthony Couzens pull one back for the Sports, but Tish stayed firm for the remainder and gained their just rewards with three important points.
