Kingsbeer’s neat double sinks determined Nomads

Merlins Bridge 4 – Neyland 0

Adam Kingsbeer starred for Merlins Bridge as the midfielder scored twice and also contributed with an assist as his side gained a thoroughly deserved victory against Neyland on a glorious sunny afternoon at the Welfare Ground.

Mike Preddy’s Wizards took the opportunity to move a point clear of the table as Goodwick who had a rest day as they were not involved in the West Wales Intermediate Cup, but the high flying teams will meet each other next week in a mouth-watering league battle at Phoenix Park.

The Wizards got off to a dream start as they scored an early goal through Kingsbeer who struck a sweetly volley struck edge of the area volley in the far corner of Corey Riley’s net.

On the half hour mark The Wizards added a second as skipper Jordan Thomas headed home a Kingsbeer corner as they led 2-0 at half time.

Gavin Rowlands’ Nomads battled hard throughout the 90 minutes and created a few decent chances which Wizards’ goalkeeper James Dickson was equal to.

Ten minutes after the interval the hosts added a cheeky third goal due to Josh Thomas’ quick-thinking free-kick caught the Nomads’ defence napping as striker Arran Bacigalupo made to mistake from an acute angle.

Ten minutes later Kingsbeer scored the fourth as he dribbled past a few Nomads defenders before scoring with a composed finish to complete the scoring on a good afternoon for Preddy’s Wizards.

Goals galore as Vikings are too hot for Pennar

Hakin United 8 – Pennar Robins 1

Captain Ryan Wilson scored the opening two goals for Hakin against Pennar RobinsChampions Hakin United showed they had too much fire power for Pennar Robins to cope with as Vikings’ birthday boy manager Scott Davies must have felt delighted at the final whistle with his teams impressive eight-goal contribution at the Obs.

As the score line suggests The Vikings dominated territory and goal scoring opportunities as they bagged four goals in each half.

Skipper Ryan Wilson bagged their first two goals, the opener he got on the end of Jordan Kilby’s pass to make no mistake with a near post finish, then the captain made no mistake from the penalty spot. Pennar pulled one back through Ryan Sture, but for the remainder The Vikings dominated proceedings.

The best individual goal of the game saw Craig Nicholson break and beat defenders from deep, before he drilled his effort in the far corner. Just before the break Liam Parks rounded keeper Ben Nunn for his side’s fourth.

Shortly after the break Leon Luby’s free-kick sailed over Nunn for the fifth. On the hour mark The Vikings continued to press forward and were rewarded as Matthew Broome added the sixth with a clinical 20 yard finish in the bottom corner.

Cameron Brunton struck the seventh with a well measured low finish and teenage substitute Dylan McGuire struck the eighth as he played a lovely one-two which gave him space to easily find the back of the net.
