Goalless clash sees Vikings in pole position for title
Goodwick United 0 - Hakin United 0
Hakin United are on the brink to winning the title after they drew 0-0 with last season’s champions Goodwick United in front of a decent crowd on a sun-kissed afternoon at Phoenix Park.
With just five games remaining Scott Davies’ Vikings are thirteen points clear of third placed Goodwick and ten points clear of second placed Monkton Swifts.
As the score line suggests there were not many clear cut chances to talk about as both defences put in solid displays.
Shane Walsh did find the back of the net but the striker was rightly ruled offside, Cameron Brunton went close as he was denied by a last ditch tackle by Josh Wood before keeper Nick Jones punced on the ball on the edge of the six-yard box.
Goodwick midfielder Rhys Jones had a couple of free kicks, one of which struck the wall and another flew high and wide.
The second half was keenly contested affair as the tussle lacked a goal and both sides had to be content with a share of the spoils, Nigel Delaney’s men still have to go to the Obs, but by that stage the race for the title might well be over by then.

Swifts complete league double over derby rivals Pennar
Pennar Robins 2 – Monkton Swifts 4
Monkton Swifts claimed the league double with victory against derby rivals Pennar Robins at Bush Camp.
A nightmare start for the Robins when the away side took the lead early on in the 4th minute. A low cross into the box seemingly was going out of play but somehow stayed in and bounced off the post into the 6 yard box to leave Wilkes to tap home.
The home side tried to settle into the game and seemed to have done so and had a couple of half chances before being stung on the counter as a ball out the right was lost and allowed the Swifts to head forward as both former Robins players Dan James set up Wilkes for his second on the half hour mark.
Shortly before this James was shown the first yellow card for kicking the ball away after Sean O’Connor’s whistle blew.
The home side then had strong appeals for a penalty waved away, allowing Monkton to go up the other end and seal an important third through a solo James effort.
Just before half time and Connor Willis got on the scoresheet for a cracking solo effort, he curled one into the top corner over Gullam’s head in added time to see the Robins trail 3-1 at the interval.
Another awful start to the second half saw Davies get on the scoresheet after he seemingly looked a couple of yards offside, however referee O’Connor deemed it onside.
The scoreline read 4-1 with the second half being a lot of stop start without any side getting a foothold in the final third, however the away side dominated possession and controlled matters before the hardworking Jack Jones got a well-deserved goal in stoppage time thanks to a well-placed assist from 16 year old Max Wheeler, a second half sub who played well.

Haydn Hughes scored a terrific second half worldie which earned Fishguard Sports a crucial point against Merlins Bridge at the Pembrokeshire Sports Village.
The Sports are currently sitting fourth from bottom on the same points as Pennar Robins and Narberth but they have a better goals conceded average.
The Wizards led 1-0 at half time thanks to in form Iwan Howells who scored his fifth goal in three games, the striker struck an unstoppable 18 yard volley which flew past Ryan Sinnott.
The second half was a little flat but the visitors grabbed a crucial equaliser in the 71
st minute when goalkeeper Ben Skudder’s goal kick fell to Hughes who wasted little time as he struck a spectacular 40 yarder which flew in the top corner which earned Phil Jones’ Sports a crucial share of the spoils.

Griffiths’ late goals win it for Carew
Tenby 1 – Carew 2
Marcus Griffiths struck two late goals as Carew came from behind to nick victory under the noses of disappointed Tenby at the Clicketts.
Both teams came into this clash with an end of season feeling, it was Tenby who led 1-0 at half time as Liam Williams struck the opener in the 34th minute.
There was late drama as the Rooks got back on level terms when Griffiths equalised in the 85th minute thanks to a neat Gareth Lewis assist then two minutes from full time they were awarded a penalty which Griffiths clinically despatched past Dylan Noot to pinch the points.

Hallam sees red as Tish make a point against battling Narberth
St Ishmaels 1 – Narberth 1
Ten-man St Ishmaels came from behind to secure a draw with battling relegation haunted Narberth.
This game didn’t start as the way Tish would have wanted as Jamie Thomas gave Narberth an early lead then minutes later their top notch striker Aaron Hallam was sent off after only 13 minutes.
It was a blow for the home side as they are likely to have their star man suspended for the forthcoming mouth-watering Senior Cup semi-final against Goodwick United.
However, in the 21st minute the hosts equalised as the vastly experienced Adam Kingsbeer scored from the spot.
Incredibly there were no further goals scored as both teams had to be content with a draw.

Kilgetty 1 – Clarbeston Road 5
Clarbeston Road turned this game around as striker Richard Bevan claimed a superb hat-trick for Clarbeston Road who defeated rock bottom Kilgetty at the Kingsmoor Ground.
The hosts led 1-0 at half and it was Jordan Gorman who got the goal in the 34th minute.
However, the Road rolled up their sleeve and put in a late surge to claim a comfortable victory.
On the hour mark Greg Brown was in the right place at the right time to equalise. Incredibly the Road grew in confidence and it was Bevan who rolled back the years to claim a stunning hat-trick in five minutes to turn this game on its head.
Deep in stoppage time Jake Wesley added a fifth to put the shine on an excellent second half display by the Road as Kilgetty are struggling at the foot of the table
