Carew 1 – Pennar Robins 1

Sean Edmundson grabbed a second half equaliser for seventh in the table Pennar Robins who had to  satisfied with a draw against third from bottom Carew.

Pennar Robins started positive in possession early in the game but it was Carew who broke the deadlock with a breakdown of communication between away centre half and keeper, it allowed Jack Christopher to sneak in and score the simplest of goals from 3 yards out.

Quickly followed were two big chances for Carew winger Harry Peniket, from the exact same position both firing high and wide to let off the visitors.

Pennar continued to dominate possession with the midfield three having the run over home sides 4-4-2 formation.

A couple of long range efforts followed for the remainder of the half without anything clear cut being created.

Kieran Smith picked up the first yellow five minutes before the break, which turned out to be one of many, as the score stayed 1-0 at half time.

In the second half, it was a case of the away side trying to get back into the game with more of the same but being clinical with the final pass or decision.

The second half tone was set early as Pennar were positive going forward to find that equaliser, pressure told and the goal come from Sean Edmundson in the 63rd minute thanks to a neat pull back from Toby Davies which allowed Edmundson to loop keeper Davies from 12 yards with a cooly composed finish.

What followed was an open-chaotic-frantic finish with Pennar pushing for the elusive winner, and Carew sitting tight to soak up the pressure.

The flow changed when the away side were reduced to ten men as Bobby Jones was sin binned for verbal’s, shortly followed minutes later by the home sides Ethan Hall binned for the same reason - as sides were down to ten men as it got a bit heated.

On the ball though, good chances were few and far between for both sides, Connor Willis had two big chances for the away side, first denied by a great fingertip save from Davies, shortly before away keeper saved from Sam Christopher’s edge of the box shot.

From then, the away side were in possession before an off the ball incident between substitutes Alex Wheeler and Jordan Richards caused a melee which seen both players cautioned in the 90th minute.

Sean Edmundson picked up a nasty injury late on before being replaced by 16 year old Max Wheeler who was in the right place to tee up Toby Davies in the 96th minute who unleashed one from 20 yards destined for the bottom corner to win it before home keeper Davies was equal to it again with a fine save to ensure the home side took a point from the game.
