Morgans’ hat-trick helps Clarby ease to victory

Rob Morgans grabbed an excellent hat-trick to help Clarbeston Road convincingly defeat bottom of the table St Clears at Knock Field.
 
Road manager Matt Fox was pleased his side picked up their eighth league win of the season as they currently sit fourth in the table, with just two games left to play this season.
 
In the 24th minute Joules Ward set-up Morgans who opened the scoring, two minutes later Ben John set-up Morgans for his side’s second, Jonathan Seeley pulled one back for the Saints as the hosts narrowly led 2-1 at half time.
 
After the break it was all Clarby as Ben John drilled in the third,  Niall Kinsella scored from the spot for the fourth, in the 74th minute Morgans bagged his treble for the fifth, Josh Ward added the sixth, three minutes from the end John added the seventh, for his second of the game.

League leaders Goodwick United gained a comfortable five-goal victory against fourth from bottom Pennar Robins at Phoenix Park.
 
Chris O’Sullivan’s outfit led 4-0 at the break, also the visitors went down to ten-men in the second period as Gedion Hockin picked up to yellow cards.
 
The hosts got off to a dream start as they grabbed two goals in the opening five minutes, firstly Dan James assisted for midfielder Rhys Jones to open the scoring, then the luckless Jake Clark put the ball in his own net.
 
In the 18th minute the hosts scored a well worked fourth as Jake Smith set-up Jonny Horgan who made no mistake. Ten minutes later Dan James grabbed his second assist as Will Haworth was on target with the fourth.
 
The second period saw the visitors have Hockin sent off, in the 73rd minute manager O’Sullivan’s 16-year-old nephew Kyle O’Sullivan struck his first senior goal for the club, for the fifth and final goal.

Silk bags last gasp winner for Wizards

Merlins Bridge came from behind as super sub Josh Silk grabbed a dramatic stoppage time winner for the Wizards against stunned Carew at the Pembrokeshire Sports Village.
 
In the opening game of the season the Rooks beat the Wizards 3-0, however on this occasion Jay Kennedy’s outfit showed strong character and belief to gain a hard fought victory.
 
The Rooks built up an early two-goal cushion, Dylan Morgan slotted home inside ten minutes, Archie Smith added the second, as Ben Henton parried Adam Muskett’s shot it was Smith who quickly followed up to score the rebound.
 
This rocked the Wizards but they pulled one back through teenager striker Lewis Miller as they trailed 2-1 at  half time.
 
Midway through the second period the hosts equalised as Alfie Stotter came off his wing and curled his effort into the top corner.
 
Deep in stoppage time as it looked the game would finish all square up pounced substitute Silk who scored a dramatic winner.

Teenager Collins bags four goals for deadly Nomads

 

Neyland 8 – Monkton Swifts 3

 
Taylor Collins - teenager scored four goals for NeylandSixteen-year-old four goal star Tyler Sutton helped Neyland to their biggest margin of victory this season against shell shocked Monkton Swifts at the Athletic Ground.
 
The Swifts came to Neyland quietly confident they would come away with something, but the Nomads had other ideas as they quite literally ripped the visitors apart with some excellent clinical finishing.
 
Early on Swifts’ goalkeeper Taylor Gullam pulled off an outstanding save to deny a powerful Aidan Rees six-yard volley.
 
At the other end Dylan Davies dribbled past Patrick Hannon, but a last ditch tackle by defender Tyler Sutton prevented the visitors taking the lead.
 
In the 14th minute the Nomads opened the scoring when Collins’ stinging volley from a Leon Barrett cross beat keeper Gullam at his near post.
 
Minutes later keeper Hannon tipped a powerful Thomas Power header over the crossbar.
 
On 20 minutes the hosts doubled the lead as Corey Richards headed home a delightful Aidan Rees corner.
 
In the 28th minute the Swifts pulled one back as Blake James’ cross allowed Declan Carroll to finish from six yards.
 
In the 33rd minute the Nomads grabbed a third, Jack John’s long ball fell to deadly Collins who beat Gullam with another superb finish.
 
After the break Max Bowman-Davies set-up teenager Collins who made no mistake to grab his hat-trick.
 
The Nomads continued to press forward; they were rewarded as Jack John scored a stunning 30-yard volley.
 
Collins slotted in the sixth, Swifts substitute Connor Hay got his side’s second, Morgan James coolly slotted in the seventh, Hay got his side’s third, deep in stoppage time Aidan Rees broke clear to slot home the eighth.
 
Afterwards Neyland manager Gavin Rowland said: “ I’m absolutely delighted with the result, we played with great determination, we battled for every ball and we were clinical.”
