Wales XL reach third consecutive inter-district cup final

Wales XL Wales XL will try and retain the inter-district National Cup on Thursday at Lutterworth Cricket Club when they play the East Midlands District. 

Captained by Pembrokeshire local Simon Holliday, they beat the Eastern Counties in July with Wales scoring 239 for 3 before their opponents responded with 163 all out, (Nick Morgan from Penarth hitting 76, Simon Holliday hitting 82no and Andrew Herbert from Dafen taking 4-28)

Wales won the regional final in August beating a strong team from Surrey and the West Sussex District.

Wales reached 209 for 8  before the opposition were dismissed for 18, (Nick Morgan again with 51, Neil Reardon from Gorseinon taking 3 for 32 and Simon Holliday 4 for28).

Several Pembrokeshire players have represented Wales at this level in the past with Hook’s Craig Nutty playing in recent campaigns.
