Lightning strikes as Lawrenny look jaded
Haverfordwest Lightning (129 for 2) beat Lawrenny (78 for 5) by 54 runs

Haverfordwest bounced back from their disappointing defeat the previous week to register an easy win over a strangely out-of-sorts Lawrenny side who conceded a lot of runs in the second half of their time with the ball and then Rhydian Eynon and Oscar Lewis apart, struggled with the bat.
In fact, the match seemed evenly balanced with The Lightning on 41 for 2 but then Doug Johnson went on the rampage in his second spell at the crease so that his top score took only 18 balls, with four fours, Shan Perreira was almost as quick as he faced 12 deliveries (three fours) and Peter Soulsby and Suleiman Safie were almost as speedy.
Then Lawrenny suffered a body blow as Will Allen was run out without facing a ball – and although Rhydian Eynon had 33 from 21 balls from his big hitting (three fours and two sixes), only Oscar Lewis (who faced 25 balls) and Tyler Lewis managed double figures as all The Lightning bowlers grabbed a wicket and they fielded quite well to stay second in the section table.
Haverfordwest Lightning Batting: Doug Johnson 43*, Shan Perreira 28*, Peter Soulsby 25*, Suleiman Safi 18
Lawrenny Bowling: Rhys Eynon 1-12, Noah Williams 0-15
Lawrenny Batting: Rhydian Eynon 33, Oscar Lewis 22*, Tyler Lewis 10
Haverfordwest Lightning Bowling: Jack Peters 1-18, Peter Soulsby 1-9, Doug Johnson 1-14, Mark Davies 1-27, Suleiman Safi 0-7
Neyland B stroll home against Herbie B
Herbrandston (95 for 5) lost to Neyland B (96 for 1) by 5 wickets

Neyland B showed why they are climbing the table with this comfortable win over their counterparts from Herbrandston as they restricted their opponents to a fairly average score and then paced their innings well to ease home with five wickets, and five balls, to spare.
Herbie certainly struggled with the bat, much of it down to a bad bout of self-destruction after Jack Badham suffered the indignity of being run out with facing a ball, Atticus Kingston also picked up a first-ball duck, and skipper Johnny Lewis scored a single off three balls before he was run out by half the pitch’s length!
Martyn Lewis and Tom Pritchard were the pick of the Neyland bowlers and it was left to Charlie Malloy to score almost half of his team’s runs with only 29 balls faced as he was still unbeaten at the end, ably assisted by Morgan Britton, who made batting look easy until he was run out late on by a cracking throw from Tom Pritchard.
Ashley Watkins and Lewis Page got Neyland B off to an excellent start and then Danny Potter produced a typical master class of batting to atone for a couple of difficult dropped catches earlier on. Danny boy lead Haverfordwest to the Lords Finals for the whole of the UK whilst captain many years ago and after coming out to help Neyland, where he now lives, he has shown how the indoor game should be played: his unbeaten innings full of deft touches and hard-hitting when needed, facing just 12 balls before he retired.
Martyn Lewis and Simon Ellis then saw Neyland home and a climb to fourth slot in the table, and now putting pressure on Tish for third place!
Herbrandston B Batting: Charlie Malloy 46*, Morgan Britton 36,
Neyland B Bowling: Martyn Lewis 1-14, Tom Pritchard o-16
Neyland B Batting: Ashley Watkins 18, Lewis Page 25*, Danny Potter 26*, Martin Lewis 10*
Herbrandston B Bowling: Dillon Lewis 1-15, Atticus Kingston 0-7
The Rooks win in a tight finish
St Ishmaels (85 for 5) lost to Carew (85 for 4) by 2 wickets

Carew maintained their interest in promotion with this hard-fought win against St Ishmaels where the result was in doubt until the final over.
Batting first, Tish has 26 from opener Phil Llewellyn before their ‘Golden Oldies’ of Kevin Bowen and Stuart Carpenter managed to raise the team’s momentum after it had sagged a little in the middle overs as brothers Ethan and Corey Hall were joined by Jacob Knox and Noah Davies in taking a wicket apiece.
Noah and Corey gave The Rooks a solid start as Ethan Hall helped them to a comfortable 55 runs at the half way stage before Messrs Carpenter and Bowen lead a comeback alongside Caydyn Maguire but a major factor in Tish’s downfall, and Carew’s ultimate success, was the 18 extras conceded (16 of them wides) and Ethan Hall’s unbeaten knock.
This important victory mean that Carew’s talented young team sit 30 points ahead in the table, in this their first year of entry into the competition, with Tish in third place despite this defeat.
