Great camaraderie shown in B League fixtures
There was great camaraderie shown in the latest round of fixtures in the B League of local indoor cricket as Hundleton, Pembroke Dock B and Pembrokeshire Veterans claimed victories in matches played in the best of spirits, something that really pleases organiser Peter ‘Maiden Over’ Davies.
He was also delighted to see three young ladies involved in Kacey Arran and Jade Louise Major involved with Neyland C and Lowis Hughes playing for Pembroke Dock B.
The games were well umpired by Chris Stapleton and Steve Williams, with Nicola Murray, Kacey Arran, Jack John and Nathan Sutton all involved in the scoring – and all the teams and officials observed a two-minute silence out of respect for it being Remembrance Sunday’.
Hundleton win easily despite Power’s contribution for Neyland C
Hundleton (77 for 2) beat Neyland C (76 for 5)

Neyland C captain Callum Power scored an excellent 40 against Hundleton and Aiden Rees also opened well with 12 before he was caught and bowled by Jonathan Williams, who also shifted Kacey Arran (7) by the same method.
Jason Milne was run out for 9 and Jade Louise Major, playing her first game in the indoor league, was also run out without scoring – and indoor league organiser Peter Davies, who does such a great job in the role, wasn’t successful in the batting stakes as he also failed to trouble the scorers as he was adjudged lbw.
His departure saw Callum Power occupying the crease on his own and he batted well in taking Neyland C to 76 for 5 before he ran out of time.
For Hundleton, Jonathan Williams showed what a wily old fox he has become with a splendid 3 for 8 analysis whilst Ben Adams, Stu Midgeley and David Lockyer all returned identical figures of 0 for 19, with Stuart McNiffe ending up on 0 for 25.
The Neyland total never seemed likely to trouble Hundleton’s batting line-up although Stu Midgeley was run out for 4 and David Lockyer was well caught by Aiden Rees of Jason Milne’s bowling for 8.
But Ben Adams reached 25 and retired before it was left to Jonathan Williams (12 not out) and Stuart McNiffe (14 not out) to see Hundleton home on only seven overs as their total was helped by 12 wides.
Big hitting pays off for The Dock B
Pembroke Dock B (143 for 3) beat Neyland C (78 for 1)

Put in to bat first, Pembroke Dock B scored runs aplenty against an inexperienced Neyland C, rattling up 143 for 3 in their allotted ten overs before restricting Callum Power’s team to 78 for 1 as The Dock bowlers bowled a good line and length.
The Dock were so much on top with the bat as they reached 114 for 0 before Owen Hughes.was caught by Jason Milne off Peter Davies, who could stand tall after his first over had departed for 18 but then he achieved the rare feat of bowling a maiden over.
Lowis Hughes, the third female to feature on the day, fell to Kacey Arran with the help of an Aiden Rees catch but the only other wicket to fall came very late on as Nick Daley was run out for 35, after Adam Phillips (25), Peter Kingdom (27) and Luke Murray (35 not out) had batted so well early on in a very big final tally.
Neyland C made a steady start via Callum Power (24) and Aiden Rees (26 before retiring) but they fell behind the required run rate and it was left to Kacey Arran (9 not out) and Jade Louise Major (3 not out) to see their side to the end without losing more wickets against tight two-over spells from Peter Kingdom (1 for 11), Owen Hughes (1 for 13), Luke Murray (0-12) and Nick Daley 0-13.
‘Old timers’ smash top score so far
Pembs Veterans (157 for 4) beat Hundleton (97 all out)

Pembs Veterans finally showed that they have finally come to terms with playing in this form of cricket, despite not being quite so sprightly as they might have been a few years before., as they comfortably disposed of the challenge of a Hundleton side which has also done well this campaign.
Neal Williams departed early for 12 as he was caught by Phil Williams off Stu Midgeley but then Andrew Williams, Leighton O’Connor and Stuart Carpenter struck the ball so well into space that there were only eight dot balls in the entire innings.
Mark Hicks was run out for 3 in the late search for even more runs and Ian Milsom contributed only six rus before he was caught by Ben Adams off Stuart McNiffe, who had the joint best figures of 1 for 28 in two overs with Adams.
Andrew Williams (35 not out), Carpenter (32) before he was run out) and especially Leighton O’Connor (35 not out) showed their capabilities and with a large contribution of 18 from ‘Mr Extras’ the Pembs Veterans reached a splendid 157 for 4.
Hundleton had Midgeley run out for only three runs and although Adams (run out for 27) and Lockyer (36) before providing Carpenter with a return catch) kept plugging away the asking rate was clearly going to be too big a challenge after Williams also gave a return catch to Neal Williams when he had scored 13.
Andrew Williams and Ian Milsom wrapped up the tail and overall the Veterans’ bowling was tight and their fielding much improved as they claimed their biggest success of the season so far!
