Division 1:
Hall and Hicks kick start Carew
St Ishmaels (154 all out) lost to Carew (201 for 7) by 47 runs
Umpires: Trefor Evans and Allan Hansen
Scorers: Wendy Bradshaw and Julie Davies
A half century from Brian Hall and destructive bowling displays from Rhys Davies and Iori Hicks ensured Carew got their campaign off to a winning start at St Ishmaels.
Hall top scored with 52 in his side’s total of 201 for 7, before Davies took 3-22 and Hicks notched figures of 5-15 in just five overs as Tish fell short on 154 all out.
Home skipper Peter Bradshaw won the toss and elected to field, when Tim Hicks (12) fell to Harry Nicholas having hit two early boundaries, courtesy of a well-taken catch by Jon Pawlett.
But it was fellow opener Hall who then provided the backbone of the innings, hitting four fours in a half century and receiving back up from Lewis Hicks (24), James Hinchcliffe (19), and then especially Luke Hicks, who came in at No 7 and blasted a four and three sixes to make 35 in just 21 balls before being run out.
For Tish, wickets were shared between Nicholas (1-23), Brennan Devonald (1-31), Jon (1-18) and Andrew Pawlett (2-47), and Lewis Rhead (1-24).
The home reply then faltered early, thanks to Rhys Davies, who had Bradshaw (2) caught behind by Morgan Grieve, and the young keeper then pouched further nicks of the same bowler to see off Kevin Bowen and Phil Cockburn for ducks.
Grieve notched a fourth catch when Carew skipper Shaun Whitfield ended a rapid knock of 41 in 28 balls from Brennan Devonald, that included seven fours and a maximum, to leave matters at 61-4.
Jon Pawlett then added resistance with two fours in his 37 (2-23) but Hicks soon decimated the lower order as The Rooks got their season well and truly underway.

Davies leads from the front as Haverfordwest hammer new boys Narberth
Haverfordwest (187 for 8) beat Narberth (83 all out) by 104 runs
Umpires: Dave Brandon and Neil Thomas
Scorers: Jayne Cole and Gwyneth Johns
Dai Davies led by example as Haverfordwest made sure it was tough start to life back in the top flight for Narberth.
The home skipper made 70 in a total of 187 for 8, before the visitors were shot out for just 83.
However, it was by no means straightforward early on as after electing to bowl, skipper Ben Hughes saw Loui Davies and Lewis Hough remove Dan Potter (3) and Nikhil Mathias (6) respectively.
But No 4 Davies kept calm, sharing a stand of 49 with Mike Jones, who hit five fours in his 46, and then later putting 74 with Jake Merry who struck three fours in his 32.
Davies hit six fours and a maximum in his innings before eventually being skittled by Hughes, who took 2-45 alongside the scalps of Hough (2-32), Davies (1-27), and Ben Quartermaine (2-46).
In reply, Richie Adams and Jordan Howell shared an opening stand of 36 for Narberth but when the former was bowled by Will Phillips for 12, the away side capitulated.
Howell did make 18 and Ben Quartermaine 17, but wickets fell regularly as 16 year old Phillips posted excellent first-team debut figures of 4-15 in six overs, Clive Tucker 3-15, Archie Thomas 1-27, and Davies topped a good personal display with 2-12.
Koomen and Banner belt Llechryd to all parts
Llechryd (93 all out) lost to Neyland (275 for 5) by 182 runs
Umpires: Arthur Brady and Richard Merriman
Scorer: John Laugharne (Neyland)
Defending champions Neyland made an early statement of intent with a ruthless huge win over Llechryd.
Centuries from Nick Koomen and Nathan Banner meant an overall total of 275-5 looked way too much for the newly promoted side to chase, and so it proved as they were dismissed for 93.
Koomen was virtuoso in his knock of 127 not out, and Banner typically destructive in making 105, while Andrew Miller chipped in with 18 not out. This was all despite a threatening spell from David Dunfee who took for 3-28 on his return to Pembrokeshire cricket, reducing the visitors to 10 for 3 as Patrick Bellerby, Ashley Sutton and Ross Hardy all departed for ducks, as did Brad McDermott-Jenkins after Koomen and Banner’s terrific partnership was finally broken by Andrew Fletcher.
Dunfee (28) then led the response but aside from him, only John Curran (16) and Andrew Fletcher (10) ever looked like getting going. It was Ross Hardy who wreaked havoc with amazing figures of four wickets for two runs, while the ever-reliable Miller spun his way to 3-32, assisted by Brad McDermott-Jenkins (2-18) and Henry Durrant (1-10), who helped finish the job.

Sutton stars as Cresselly chase down their target
Cresselly (214 for 3) beat Saundersfoot (210 for 7) by 7 wickets
Umpires: Steve Blowes and Tony Walsh
Scorers: Teagan Cartwright and Sarah Mansbridge
The only successful run chase in Division 1 yesterday came in Cresselly, where 64 from Dan Sutton (8 fours and 2 sixes) set The Doves up for a win against Saundersfoot.
It was The Seasiders who elected to bat and the decision seemed to pay dividends as Danny Caine led the charge, falling agonisingly short of three figures as he hammered 98. Including 6 fours and 3 sixes) before he was bowled by Ryan Lewis in the 44th over.
New signing Scott Helmich also made 32, Nick Cope 30, and Tudor Hurle 20 and the total of 210 for 7 looked a useful one, as Tom Arthur (1-31), Dan James (1-34), Tom Murphy (1-40) and Ryan Lewis (1-61) took a wicket each for the hosts.
But then Sutton led the way and there were also vital knocks from Phil Williams (46, including 8 fours), and Alex Bayley, whose 39 not out in only 21 balls helped his side over the line.

Marsh boys on song as Lawrenny leather Whitland
Lawrenny (264 all out) beat Whitland (75 all out) by 189 runs
Umpires: Dave Bonner and Gareth Brace
Scorers: Malcolm Thomas and Ann-Marie Jenkins
It was a family affair at Lawrenny as brothers Kyle and Kurtis Marsh helped put Whitland to the sword.
Despite losing the toss, home skipper Joe Kidney was able to enjoy his team piling up 264 all out, with Kyle hitting 83 (8 fours & 5 sixes) and younger sibling Kurtis 45 (10 fours).
There were also runs for Tom Cole (32), James Phillips (29), Rob Williams (25 not out), with Whitland wickets shared between Wayne Howells (2-27), Jonathan Thomas (2-27), Connor Bowen (2-50), Geraint Jones (2-66), and Jack Bowen 2-60.
The Borderers never looked like coming close to their target, with only Geraint Jones (30) getting going as new captain Jonathan Thomas (13) and Scott Newton got starts but never pushed on.
For the home side, Ryan Morton did the damage with 4-17, while Williams took 2-29, Jamie Lewis 2-22, and Kurtis Marsh finished the job off with two wickets without conceding a run.
