1. Sean Hannon (Capt) -
Appearing in his ninth Bowl final today, Sean is one of the most experienced players in the county when it comes to playing on the big stage, and he will relish the chance to lead the team once more in this showpiece event. Still as sharp as ever behind the stumps, his spell of bowling in the semi-final proved crucial in helping us get over the line by a solitary run, while he is also more than useful with the bat.
2. Ross Hardy
On his day, Ross is one of the most entertaining batters to watch in Pembrokeshire, with his swashbuckling approach capable of taking the game away from the opposition in no time. He bowled a tight opening spell in the semi-final with Neyland defending just 84, and will undoubtedly play a key role this afternoon.
3. Paul Murray
‘Minty’ is another of our hugely experienced players when it comes to games of this calibre. Man of the Match in the 2017 Bowl final win over Cresselly, his attacking approach at the top of the order has laid the platform for numerous Neyland wins over the years, and he will be keen to contribute yet again in today’s final.
4. Patrick Bellerby
Man of the Match in the 2021 Bowl final win against Carew, Paddy has always been someone who enjoys playing on the big stage, with his final-ball six winning a previous Duggie Morris Cup final against Haverfordwest. One of the safest pairs of hands in the field, Paddy will undoubtedly have a key role to play today.
5. Dai Davies
Now in his third season with Neyland, Dapper has been a brilliant addition to the side with his commitment and sheer will to win helping to keep the team motivated, while his approach to batting means he provides an important anchor role at the top of the order. He will be hoping to win a second Bowl title with Neyland this afternoon after a number of previous successes with his former club Haverfordwest.
6.
Andrew Miller
‘Windy’ continues to be a vital part of the first team setup, with his contribution to Neyland Cricket Club over the years as player and long-serving captain simply legendary. While his bowling exploits are well known, he has reminded us of just how capable he is with bat in hand this season, with numerous important knocks at the top of the order to go with his reliable fielding.
7. Gregg Miller
‘Greggo’ is a two-time Bowl winning captain, and has enjoyed some impressive contributions with the bat this season, with his 18 in the semi-final proving to be crucial with how the game panned out. His experience in the field is very important and he has always been regarded as one of the top fielders in the county., while he is more than adept at keeping his teammates focused and motivated.
8. Jack John
‘JJ’ has been an ever-present in the first team since arriving in Neyland five years ago, contributing numerous important spells with the ball while also chipping in with crucial knocks with bat in hand. His opening spell in the semi-final win over Tish proved crucial for laying the foundations for Neyland to defend 84, as he conceded just 19 runs from his five overs.
9. Tom Pritchard
Tom has been a regular member of the first team over the last five years or so, and has grown into his role within the team, opening the bowling for the majority of the last two seasons. His best figures with the first team are 6-25, which came in an away win over Carew, and if selected today will be his first appearance in a Bowl final, having been 12th man in the 2023 win over Lawrenny.
10. Ashley Sutton
‘Ash’ is a two-time Man of the Match in Bowl finals, having played crucial roles in the 2013 win over Llangwm and the 2020 success against Haverfordwest. His playing time has been limited this season, but a player of his quality is always capable of delivering in big games, and it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see Ashley deliver another stand-out display this afternoon.
11. Alan Webster
Alan is currently in his second season with the club, having joined from Pembroke ahead of the 2024 campaign. He has proved to be a reliable member of the team, with his commitment and passion for the game adding a new dynamic to the squad, and he will relish the chance of a first Bowl final appearance should he be included this afternoon. Also a Welsh Seniors international who has played in a world cup tournament in India.
12. Patrick Hannon
Paddy has been a consistent performer for the team for almost two decades now, with his accurate swing bowling always tough to get away, while his energy levels in the field help to save plenty of runs and keep teammates focused. Patrick is no mug with the bat either, with his boundary from the final ball of the 2015 final helping to see us over the line against Whitland. He has been unable to play for much of the season but could well feature strongly in the final.
13. Brad McDermott-Jenkins
‘Bubbler’ is one of the most popular members of the dressing room, with his positive approach to the game allowing him to play freely while motivating others around him. Brad has previous experience of making big contributions in Bowl finals, both as a big-hitting batsman and as a wicket-taker at crucial times., and another top performance here would be very welcome indeed.
14. Ashley Watkins
‘Ash’ has come into the first team in recent seasons and shown that he is more than capable of holding his own, with his fielding around the boundary in particular showing an impressive attitude to the game for someone so young. A talented footballer, Ashley recently travelled to Malta with Haverfordwest County for their UEFA Conference League qualifying campaign.
