SHAUN WHITFIELD - 'Whitters' is enjoying his first full season as captain and has now fully recovered from an injury earlier this summer. Another one who has recently joined the 'ton club' for Carew. Appearing in a Bowl Final is something Shaun has craved for and he is determined to make sure he enjoys the day as a player and captain. It is his first Bowl Final.
LEWIS HICKS - 'Hightower' is arguably the biggest opener in Carew's history, well height wise anyway! A left handed batsman who has scored important runs this season including his first hundred for Carew. Popular with the local press Lewis, AKA Louis AKA Luke loves reading about his performances each week! Again it will be his first Bowl Final.
IAN SEFTON - 'Diggler' is the mystery man of the side both on and off the field because weeks even months can go by without any sightings of Sef. One thing for certain however is his ability to score runs quickly and his late inclusion in the semi-final was rewarded with a match winning knock. He was Man of the Match in Carew’s last success in 2010 and has played in six Bowl Finals for Carew.
RHYS DAVIES - 'Harpo' is an ex-Carew captain who has been a regular in the first team for nearly fifteen years. As a true all-round cricketer ‘Po Po’ has added spin bowling to his repertoire in recent times. 'Wiggum' has this year embarked on a new career as a police officer following in the footsteps of his all-time hero Tosh Lines. He has played in three previous Bowl Finals for Carew.
NICK DAVIES - 'Klaus' has cemented the role of wicketkeeper/batsman over the last few years and grown in stature in both roles. He has opened the batting for most of the season but has shown his versatility more recently by batting in the middle order. Nick loves a bargain having recently purchased three 'quality' bats off EBay for £1.40 but then paid £20 for postage! First Bowl Final.
BRIAN HALL - 'Lager' is another ex-captain of Carew and a great thinker of the game, with amazing ability to memorise opposition batsman's strengths and weaknesses. 'Johnny' is the quiet man of the team always 'declaring the need to play cricket in the right spirit'. Achieved a lifetime dream recently when he was awarded the honour of reswitching on the clubs jukebox. He has played in four Bowl Finals for Carew and three for Lamphey.
LUKE HICKS - 'Balding' loves grabbing the headlines whenever he can. He is a destructive left-handed batsman who has come into the side in recent years with the role of 'trashing' the opposition’s bowling. An excellent fielder who claims to have the hardest throw in world cricket. First Bowl Final.
JAMES HINCHLIFFE - 'Ballshiner' is probably Carew's most versatile player, being able to bat and bowl at any time in the innings. 'Hinchy' opened the batting in Carew's last appearance in a Bowl Final in 2012 and will be looking to make a big impression today. He loves dressing up and posting videos of himself online and has played in one Bowl Final for Carew.
IORI HICKS - 'Yossa' is a medium pace bowler and a hard hitting batsman who has cemented his place in the first team over the last few years. Iori is a firm favourite with the Carew crowd and will be well-supported on Saturday, with a large part of the 'Hicks Clan' cheering him on. He is never far from the action both on and off the field. First Bowl Final.
CERI BRACE - 'Braccers' is the spin option in the Carew side having first come onto the scene in a Bowl Final in 2008. Brace is a great storyteller, regaling his team mates with cricket scores and events from the past, nearly all that never actually happened! Has grown in stature on and off the field in recent years mainly to him not cutting his hair for 12 months. Looking forward to the 'Big Day', he has played in one Bowl Final for Carew.
SION JENKINS - 'Young Boxer' made the journey down the hill to Carew a couple of years ago as a medium pace bowler and lower order batsman who has fought back from injury problems this season. During his injury break Sion developed his fashion sense and now wears shirts that only members of the Sefton family would be others brave enough to wear. Recently named as 'best newcomer' in an Irish Folk Dancing Festival with his unique take on the hop, skip, skip and jump dance. First Bowl Final.
HAYDN SHAPCOTT - 'Shappy' has played cricket in Carew for over fifteen years. A left handed batsman who can keep wicket when required. Great athlete who covers the ground quickly and was part of the Alec Colley winning side last summer. 'Shapster' was 12
th man for Carew in their last Bowl Final in 2012.
SAM HARTS - 'Buffalo' made the journey down the hill to Carew this summer. Medium- paced opening bowler and lower order batsman who has struggled with injury over the last few weeks. Has taken medical advice, which includes spending two weeks in an ice chamber drinking 'Udder Milk' in an attempt to make the side today. Harts is an emotional character who sometimes makes more noise than his dad Mackie's car! First Bowl Final for Carew having played in Bowl Finals for Cresselly.
TIM HICKS - 'Hicksey' has been the best all round sportman to come out of Carew according to his dad Gerald ,since Gerald himself. As a cricketer Tim excels in every department of the game. First played in a Bowl Final in 2002 and is hoping to be able to once again experience the unique day as long as football and his bank manager allows. Has played in Seven Bowl Finals for Carew.
NICK SCOURFIELD - 'Rushie' is another ex-captain of Carew and has been part of the Carew top order since appearing in his first Bowl Final in 1989. An outstanding fielder in his youth, Ted is now rightly regarded as one of the best gully fielders in the county. Looking to develop himself into an all-rounder in the winter months giving Carew another bowling option next summer. He has played in Nine Bowl Finals for Carew.
GARETH LEWIS - 'G' is a classy left-handed batsman who moved to Carew some years ago and can bat anywhere in the top order as well as being a great man in the outfield. A solicitor by trade he has been involved in defending many notorious individuals which include Colombian Drug Lords, Mass Murderers, & Carew Cricketers. First Bowl Final for Carew having played in three finals with Lamphey.
