Town B win only match

There was sadly only one match in this week’s Indoor Cricket League because Pembroke Dock Cricket Club were unable to field a side, despite the yeoman efforts of Craig Butland.

As a result, there was only one match on offer as Haverfordwest B beat Neyland B in an entertaining clash.
To be fair to Neyland they battled hard but conceded too many runs early on to the talented Town openers Nikhil Mathias and Jack Scriven and when they batted almost all their run-getters were run out.

This reflected fairly on Haverfordwest’s efforts in the field but perhaps was a little surprising because they included a bit of an ‘old timer’ in Matthew Vaughan and the even more venerable Colin Williams!

Mathias topped the batting list with 36 not out from his two spells at the crease whilst fellow teenager Scriven retired on 26 after playing some excellent shots 0 and Archie Thomas chipped in with 18, bowled by Neyland skipper Ian Milsom, who also had Vaughan adjudged lbw for a duck!

But Colin Williams showed he still has the spark with an unbeaten 21 that clearly delighted him as ‘Mr Extras’ also added another 25 runs to what was a solid total.

Neyland also began well through Callum Power (27) and Ben Milsom (24) but both got themselves run out as the run-rate increased.

Things got worse as Nathan Sutton (16) also departed when he was settled and the final pair of Jamie Smith and skipper Milsom were removed quickly to give Haverfordwest B victory by 32 runs.
