Youth Cup Finals Day a resounding success

Youth Rugby – Preliminary Report:

The new format for the Pembrokeshire Youth Cup Finals Day were a resounding success as they were superbly hosted by Haverfordwest, whose talented youth team, led by Devin Williams and Iori Curtis, beat a battling Narberth Youth by  54-24 in an entertaining match played at a furious pace that showed all that is best in the county at this age group – and watched by a very large and enthusiastic crowd.

In the Plate Final, played as a curtain-raiser for the big match, Tenby United produced a splendid show of attacking and defensive rugby as they outplayed a gritty Crymych team by 57-6 – although Crymych played far better that the scoreline suggests and had sustained periods of pressure but failed to turn it into points.

The trophies were presented by Delyth Summons (District H rep on the WRU), and Charles Davies, the president of host club Haverfordwest – and organiser Ken Davies is to be congratulated on the new format.

PembrokeshireSport.co.uk will provide full match reports, teams lists and lots more photographs of players and referees tomorrow!
