Former Sir Thomas Picton pupil Sam Parry is set to win his first Welsh cap against France on Saturday.

Parry, 27, has been named amongst the replacements for the game in Paris, which will serve as a warm-up to Wales' Six Nations clash with Scotland the following Saturday.

The Ospreys hooker has been a consistent performer for his region since joining from the Dragons in 2014, making more than 80 appearances. He has previously joined up with the Welsh squad for training purposes, but Saturday will represent his first match day involvement at senior international level.

Parry began his career at Haverfordwest RFC, and also represented Scarlets at under 18 level before joining Premiership side Llandovery. From there he moved to the Dragons and spent three seasons at Rodney Parade, before then switching to the Liberty Stadium.

Former Whitland flanker James Davies, who was called up as a replacement for Scarlets team mate Josh Macleod, is also named as a replacement.

The game will kick off at 8pm on Saturday, and will be shown live on S4C and ITV4.
