Championship Division (West):
Attacking Otters run in nine tries
Narberth 57 - Ystalyfera 5
Narberth produced another terrific display of attacking rugby as they ran in no fewer than nine tries against a useful Ystalyfera side that battled hard throughout but could only muster one try as The Otters also defended well to complete another good performance that will have pleased coach Liam Gadd – especially since his young team included 14 players who started out their rugby careers in Pembrokeshire.
The visitors were rocked back as The Otters were already 12 points ahead after less than four minutes, starting from the kick-off as Ianto Griffiths launched the ball into the Ystalyfera 22, his pack somehow took the ball and centre Ilan Phillips strolled over in the corner!
No sooner than they had restarted than The Otters showed their superiority in the set-pieces, the ball was swept wide to Dean James, who spun out of two tackles and almost reached the line himself before supplying skipper Tom Powell with the scoring pass – and this time Ianto Griffiths converted after hitting the posts with the first score.
It says much about the visitors’ commitment that they enjoyed a period of pressure from which winger Steffan Gibson scored before Narberth hist back with a lineout drive to the corner from which centre Hedd Nicholas came up with the ball and Griffiths again added the extras before a fourth try near half time from Ilan Phillips after a typical Lewys Gibby break ensured The Otters already had a bonus point in the bag by the oranges.
The Otters also had a good start to the second period as George Rossiter, who formed an impressive, youthful front row with Tom Clarke and Lewis Davies, burst clear from a maul on the 22 and pounded his way to the line – and a lovely break by powerful centre Hedd Nicholas was again supported by skipper Powell to score a try which Ianto Griffiths converted with his last touch before being replaced by Jon Rogers.
The onslaught continued as outstanding No 8 Roy Osborn stretched out to score and this was followed in the closing stages with tries from Dean James and Geraint Llewellyn, both converted by Rogers.
These scores nicely rounded off another great performance by Narberth RFC that maintains their 100% record at the top of the table and when one considers the strength of their replacements’ bench for this match it was a further fact that enhanced the quality of this victory!
Narberth: Geraint Llewellyn; Dean James; Ilan Phillips; Hedd Nicholas; Aled Rees: Ianto Griffiths; Lewys Gibby: Lewis Davies; Tom Clarke; George Rossiter: Will Blackburn; Alex Jenkins: Tom Powell (Capt); Sam Davies; Roy Osborn.
Replacements: Kyle Hamer; Tom Slater; Josh Hamer; Alex Williams; Jonathan Rogers.
Preseli Men ease home at Parc Lloyd Thomas
Crymych 19 - Dunvant 17

Crymych gained a hard-fought but deserved win over an experienced Dunvant team at Parc Lloyd Thomas after they had been locked into an absorbing clash where the teams had been locked into a 7-all draw at half time before The Preseli Men came from behind to snatch the verdict with a last-ditch try from flanker Osian Jones.
Dunvant showed their capabilities when they opened the score with a try by outside half Adam Wip, who also landed the conversion – but Crymych responded well with a well-worked try from skipper Carwyn Phillips which No 10 Ifan Davies converted.
The second half was equally contested as both teams had half chances before Crymych broke the deadlock with a try by outside half Davies which he also converted – but Dunvant refused to submit and replacement Robbie Morris and centre Joe Packer grabbed tries to lead 17-14 with time running out.
The Preseli Men had the final say though as forward pressure took them gradually into the Dunvant 22 and after good ball retention increased the pressure it was Osian Davies who found the gap and ploughed through it.
The conversion went wide but it mattered little because The Preseli Men held out during the short time left and the final whistle saw Elgan Vittle’s squad that vital two points ahead and deserved sixth league win from 10 outings that keeps them in the top five in the league table.
Crymych: Eilir George: Tomos Lewis; Tomos Phillips; Rhys Davies; Laurence Headlam: Ifan Davies; Daf Phillips: Luke Griffiths-Dawes; Carwyn Rees, Alfie Evans-Fecci: Iestyn Wood; Llyr Davies: Osian Davies; Gethin Davies; Carwyn Phillips (Capt).
Replacements: Lee Griffiths; Luke Freebury; Matthew Freebury; Tristan Jones.
Division One (West):

Gorseinon 64 - Whitland 11

Sadly, no further details are available from the match.

Division Two (West):
Seasiders win in a tight tussle
Fishguard & Goodwick 20 - Carmarthen Athletic 17

Fishguard and Goodwick battled their way to a narrow, but deserved, win over old rivals Carmarthen Athletic at The Moors as they held off a stern challenge with skipper James Griffiths to the fore and deservedly collecting their man of the match award.
The Seagulls led 10-5 at half time and opened their account with a try from talented young second row Rhys Lewis after a concerted drive by his fellow forwards and Griffiths did well to slot the conversion as well as a penalty before The Athletic responded with an unconverted try by Steffan Thomas.
In the second half a sustained period of pressure allowed outside half Jake Jenkins to wobble over a dropped goal and soon afterwards another good drive by Sion Colella, Cai Llewellyn, Jac and Will Delaney and Co saw prop Liam Wilkes driven over and Griffiths’ excellent conversion was the icing on the Seagulls’ cake.
The Athletic did have the final word, however, as young replacement Thomas Morgan sniped over for a try which he also converted but by then it was a case of too little, too late, as The Seagulls sensibly held on to complete their fifth win from seven league starts.
Fishguard & Goodwick: Robbie Jones: Dan Evans; Dylan Scott; James Griffiths (Capt); Dan Cleary: Jake Jenkins; Max Jones: Liam Wilkes; Will Lewis; Will Delaney: Rhys Lewis; Bryn Thomas: Cai Llewellyn; Sion Colella; Jac Delaney.
Replacements: Iwan McVeigh; Ben John; Griff Williams; Osian Rowe; Joe Dunn.
Colley stars as Seagulls seal easy victory
Tenby United 79 - Amman United 12
Tenby United entertained basement club Amman United and maintained their 100% start to the season in style by running in 12 tries whilst conceding two scores themselves in rare moments when they relaxed the pressure.
Leading the way for The Seasiders was outstanding No 8 Dan Colley, who has found a rich vein of form over the past couple of years since switching from the centre, and on this occasion he powered over for FIVE tries as reward for his control at the base of the scrum and excellent support play.
Jack Brown (2) and Jake Roberts completed an excellent day for the Tenby back row as they foraged well alongside Tom Barrass and skipper Luke Dedman, plus a tireless front row of Ethan Morgan, Dan Allen and Rob Luly.
Other home scores came from full back Luke Hartland, scrum half Tom Lewis, replacement Toby Smith and winger Geraint Powell. Outside half Harry Rossiter had something of an armchair ride as he formed the link between forwards and backs – and after landing an early penalty went on to notch eight conversions to round off a good day for The Seasiders in front of a home crowd which clearly enjoyed their running rugby.
Tenby United: Luke Hartland: Brad Cramb; Jack Gooding; Luke Waygood; Geraint Powell: Harry Rossiter; Tom Lewis: Ethan Morgan; Dan Allen; Rob Luly: Tom Barrass; Luke Dedman (Capt): Jake Roberts; Jack Brown; Dan Colley.

Mariners miss out in basement battle
Tycroes 38 - Milford Haven 30
Milford Haven gained bonus point after scoring tries from second row Jay Goodall, full back Jamie Lewis, winger Dean McSparron and centre Dan Jenkins as fly half Oli Rothero slotted two conversions and two penalties.
The Mariners led 17-16 at half time but were always under a bit of pressure and Tycroes even denied them a losing point with a late try.
Sadly, there are no further details from this fixture!
Milford Haven: Jamie Lewis: Lee Riley; Evan Morgan; Dan Jenkins; Dean McSparron: Ollie Rothero; Danny McClelland: Ben Jenkins; Luke Ryan; Aaron Mayne: Jay Goodall; Zac Davies (Capt): Ben Groves; Ieuan Davies; Ryan Manswell.
Replacements: Shaun Devonald; Tristan Lewis; Ethan Aldred; Ryan Williams; Garin Gardner.
Division Three (West) A:
Laugharne show their power but battle all the way
Laugharne 61 - Neyland 12

Laugharne continue to be one of the front runners in this section and showed just why as they ran in nine tries against a young Neyland side which never gave up the ghost but were on the back foot against an experienced home outfit where players of the calibre of Nico Setaro, Liam Price and Carl Smith put their experience to good effect.
But The All Blacks did open the scoring as good work up front by skipper Owain Evans and his brother Iestyn, Ben James and Dan Hart saw No 8 Ben Willams add to his number of tries scored for the club – but they lost second row Kieran Cookson with a head injury before Laugharne turned on the pace and power to grab five converted tries to establish a 35-5 interval lead.
Neyland did manage to add a converted try in the second half as reward for their never-say-die spirit, scored and converted by No 10 George Evans after good work by his half-back partner Owen Hamer.
Laugharne continued to dominate, though, with four more tries and three conversions to keep the pressure on the teams in the promotion battle with them – but the All Blacks, youngsters, especially in their back division, can take comfort from the fact that under the guidance of Steve Evans they will continue to keep on building on their undoubted potential!
Neyland: Callum O’Riorden: Liam Rees; Alex Codd; Adam Peele; Jasper Endean: George Evans; Owen Hamer: Ben James; Alex Swales; Ebs Svritka: Kieran Cookson; Iestyn Evans: Dan Hart; Owain Evans (Capt); Ben Wiliams.
Replacements: Mark James; Joel Thomas; Lucas Jones; Lewis Hallett; Matthew Coles.
Saints reach points half century
Llanybydder 12 - St Davids 52

St Davids made the long journey to Llanybydder and came away with a bonus-point win where they also managed to score over a half century of points as reward for their recent hard work under coaches Jack Dudley and Chris Morgan, Llanybydder had lost all seven of their previous league matches and were in trouble from the outset as The Saints built a 26-5 interval lead and doubled their points total afterwards.
Their first-half tries came from dynamic scrum half Owain Swain (2), powerful centre Ben Joyce, and powerful No 8 George Raymond, three of them converted by No 10 Aaron Foster.
In reply Llan scored a try by Josh Morris and added another after the break from Steffan Bonsall, converted by Griff Jones but The Saints continued to dominate matters and added further tries by full back Luke Bamford, flanker Rhys Price, replacement wingers Scott Candler and Olly Owen – and The Saints were still singing in the bar over two hours later!
St Davids: Luke Bamford: Zac Morgan; Ben Joyce; Morgan Griffiths; Harvey Lavin: Aaron Foster; Owain Swain: Ethan Griffiths; Adam Williams; Ruyan John: James Goldsmith; Iestyn Owen: Aled Davies; Rhys Price; George Raymond.
Replacements: Ben Lloyd; Olly Owen; Matty McLeod; Scott Candler; Fred Dorn.
Cardis run riot as Wasps wilt
Cardigan 80 - Llangwm 7
Cardigan showed just why they are currently top of the table as they ran in six tries in each half against Llangwm, who never gave up trying but found it hard going with a team that contains potent power amongst both forwards and backs – and used it to the full.
Centres Kieran Greenland and Emyr Harries started the try spree and before the interval The Teifisiders added further scores from flanker Dafydd Rotie, winger Alun Jenkins (2) and No 8 Tom Taylor, five of them converted by full back Shaun Leonard.
Llangwm didn’t give up the struggle, however, and near the interval were finally rewarded when Seth Willington, fresh out of youth and home from university, marked his debut in the second row with a try that came from good work by Luke Hayman, and converted by outside half Harry Makepeace.
Cardigan continued to add to their tally in the second half through Rotie’s second score and two more from ubiquitous No 8 Taylor, who finished with a hat-trick, Jack Tucker Lynch, and Luke Palmer-Davies.
Llyr Jones took over the kicking duties after Leonard left the pitch and also landed five conversions to help boost Cardigan’s already ‘points for’ column but Llangwm can take consolation because they have a very young squad who will do well as they gain experience!
Cardigan: Shaun Leonard; Alun Jenkins; Kieran Greenland; Emyr Harries (Capt); Jack Taylor: Jac Davies; Llyr Jones (No 9): Llyr Jones (Prop); Luke Palmer-Davies; Nathan Bowen: Ellis Evans; Dean Harries: Aaron Tomkinson; Dafydd Rotie; Tom Taylor. Rhodri Parry Jones; Kester Adams; Jackson Tucker Lynch; Rhodri Davies; Wyn Williams).
Llangwm: Luke Hayman: Wade Lloyd; Owain Jones; Mikey Phillips; Jack Roberts: Harry Makepeace; Steff Thomas: Ben Llewellyn; Phil Llewellyn; Callum Jenkins: Charlie Wilson; Gethin Bateman: Seth Willington; James Lewis; Ashley James.
Replacements: Joe Newton; Matthew Rees; Jack Clancy’; Luke Dyer; Matthew Hughes.
Aber gain a bonus point as Quins battle hard
Pembroke Dock Harlequins 17 - Aberaeron 30

Aberaeron continued their good form with a win at Bierspool but not before they had been pushed hard by a determined Pembroke Harlequins’ side that was still level at half time, actually took the lead in the second half before Aber raised the tempo in a late push and were value for victory whilst The Quins had to settle for a home defeat where there was nothing to show in terms of league points after they conceded a late try claimed by replacement hooker Sion Evans.
Aber soaked up the expected early Quins’ pressure before motoring ten points ahead with a penalty by Rhodri Jenkins, who also converted their first try from the touchline after the touchdown by winger Steffan Jones.
But back came the Quins as outside half Euan McDonald sliced through for a try and centre Gethin Bradney converted to go with a well-struck penalty.
Matters were equally competitive in the third quarter hooker Rhys B Jones grabbed an unconverted try for Aber but Bradney put his side in front as he somehow pouched a high pass and sped to the line before adding the extra points.
Aber soon responded, however, with a try by No 8 Will James and although Jenkins was unable to convert he added a penalty to put his team 23-20 in front.
At least it seemed as if The Quins would take a losing bonus point but Evans’ late converted score prevented that, alongside an unlucky bounce of the ball which denied Tom Donovan the chance of a deserved consolation try.
Pembroke Dock Harlequins: Tom Donovan: Owain Turner; Gethin Bradney; Jack Price; Aaron Spencer: Euan McDonald; Tom Wheeler: Mark Van Rhyn; George Bellmaine; Dan McLeod: Rhys Doyle; Andrew Edwards (Capt); Jordan Palmer; Dan Wilkes; Ryan Gammer.
Replacements: Alfie Ball; Ben Gibby; Will Nicot; Callum Jones; Josh Brown.
