All Blacks bag Sutton Cup
Llangwm 18 - Neyland 31
Neyland completed the double over near neighbours Llangwm in an entertaining clash and in doing so were presented with the Sutton Cup, donated by the family in memory of the late Paul Sutton and competed for by these old rivals.
The match started off with a bang so that The Wasps were 13-12 ahead after only 18 minutes as both teams played some enterprising stuff. Andrew Brock kicked an early penalty for the Wasps, who then allowed Craig Grice to score a Neyland try which Patrick Bellerby converted from in front of the posts.
Llangwm’s full back Rhys Baker scored a try which he rounded off with a spectacular dive before Delme Bateman sped up the line for a superb corner try to put the All Blacks ahead again, only for a second Andrew Brock penalty to nudge the Wasps back in front.
Jonathan Slark scored his first try for Neyland, however, to nudge his side into a 17-12 interval lead.
A second Baker try boosted Llangwm but Neyland’s acting captain Adam Collins
powered through for a try and Bateman added his second, both converted by Bellerby, to give Neyland the honours after a 46-19 home success added to this success.
Neyland team captain Mark James received the splendid trophy from Llangwm chairman Keith Lawrence and Dai Sutton, who is Paul’s father to round off an excellent afternoon at Pill Parks.

Martin leads Otters to success
Narberth 38 - Tondu 14
Two tries by pact centre Steve Martin helped Narberth gain a convincing win over lowly Tondu, who never gave up trying but found it hard going against the Otters’ back division in which Nick Gale also breezed in for a try brace.
Much of the Otters’ hard work had been completed by half time as they played into the strong breeze but still led 12-0 as their pack showed good discipline and Martin followed scrum half Adrian Killa onto the try sheet as fly half Ianto Griffiths converted one.
Griffiths also converted Gale’s first try, ten minutes into the second half before Tondu grabbed their first try, scored by flanker Ashton Evans and converted by scrum half Gareth Powell.
But a penalty from Griffiths, followed by second tries by Martin and Gale, the first converted by Griffiths and the second by the try scorer, made sure that Narberth were good value for victory, despite a late consolation try by Denton Goodridge for Tondu, which Powell converted to round off an entertaining tussle.

Cracking win for Crymych
Crymych 21 - Kidwelly 13
Crymych showed their true capability stands some way above 11th place in the table as they gained revenge for a 24-18 defeat at Kidwelly with this deserved home success over the second placed club in the section that moved the Preseli Men up a place.
The hard work for Crymych was undertaken in the first period as they played into the teeth of the wind but only trailed 10-5 as winger Gavin Thomas scored an unconverted but Kidwelly could only muster a try from No 8 Jonathan Williams which full back Gareth Rees converted to go with a penalty.
With Andrew Phillips, Gruff Howells, Aled Harries, Alex Humphreys
, Tom Powell and the rest of the Crymych pack working really hard, they were rewarded with a penalty try from an attacking scrum five which Rhys Davies converted to put his side in front – and then Davies and Rees exchanged further penalties before Davies had the final word with another two three-pointers as reward for the way he helped dictate the patterns of play alongside his veteran namesake Gareth at outside half.
Glanville hat-trick helps Borderers gain revenge
Whitland 31 - Cwmllynfell 5
A splendid hat-trick of tries by centre Lee Glanville helped Whitland record one of their best wins of the season as they moved up to a respectable fifth place in the table and avenged a narrow 7-6 defeat when the teams met in Cwmllynfell.
The strong-running centre grabbed both Borderers’ tries in a first period where they played into the elements but led 12-0 as Johnny Thomas chipped in with a conversion.
They had plenty of possession as second rows Raff Williams and Matthew Clarke secured excellent lineout ball as well as featuring in the close exchanges and after flanker Zac France-Miller added their third try it was Glanville who scored his third try, converted by Scott Newton.
Veteran forward Dai Ebsworth also scored a try as reward for his unstinting efforts and Newton again converted before Cwmllynfell claimed a late consolation score from second row Ronan Davies – but by then the Borderers were out of sight!

Blues bag bonus point victory
Haverfordwest 22 - Llandeilo 11
After several narrow defeats on the trot Haverfordwest secured a deserved home win over Llandeilo that also included a bonus point for scoring four tries in a welcome win which moves the Blues out of the bottom two in the table.
Haverfordwest had first use of the strong wind blowing down the pitch and they deservedly established a 17-0 advantage as centre Luke Harvatt opened their account when he rounded off a handling move initiated by Danny Morgan and Steve Williams, who added the extra points.
Then Williams sliced through for an unconverted try and skipper Gareth Green scored in the corner to round off the best move of the half in a move again started by No 9 Morgan.
But there were warning signs for the Blues as the big Llandeilo pack began to rumble into the wind and although the home defence kept their line intact they conceded penalties in the 32nd and 38th minutes that gave visiting kicker Josh Archer six points.
Worse was to follow after the oranges when another Llandeilo rumble at a lineout won by Nathan Jones allowed prop Gareth Morgan to crash over for an unconverted try – and only a superb last-ditch corner tackle by full back Darren salmon on Owain John stopped another score.
It seemed to lift the Blues and they stormed back upfield with Terry Lovell, Ashley George,, Brett Davies and Ryan Banner all involved – and a quickly-taken penalty by Morgan allowed flanker Adam Williams to plough through for that vital fourth try which set the seal on an excellent Blues’ win.

Teifisiders’ try fest
Cardigan 59 - Tumble 5
Cardigan played some enterprising running rugby against lowly Tumble and were already assured of victory by half time as they had already scored six tries and established a 38-5 lead.
The Teifisiders opened their account as early as the second minute, when centre Dafydd Williams scored an unconverted try which was followed by a 14th minute try from player/coach Colin Davies which full back Iestyn Crompton goaled.
Scrum half Arwyn Wilson got his name on the try sheet and was followed by Crompton, who not only converted both but added the extra points after 33 minutes when No 8 and skipper Llyr Griffiths crossed the whitewash.
Just before that Tumble managed an unconverted score from second row Hefin Dunbrill but Cardigan had the final word in the period as winger Dorian Butler raced away to score.
Tumble tightened up their defence a little in the second half but Cardigan ran in three more tries by left wing Kieran Hurley, prop Richard Jones and fly half Llyr Tobias, who also landed all three conversions to round off an excellent win for the Teifisiders.
Rogers slots last gasp penalty to share spoils
Tycroes 6 - Tenby United 6
A last-ditch penalty by Jonathan Rogers secured a share of the spoils for Tenby United in a tough encounter at Tycroes where no quarter was asked for or given – and the teams previously fourth and third in the table drew for the second time since they had shared 28 points at Heywood Lane.
And although it brought to an end the Seasiders’ recent run of wins they could regard this as two points gained because a defeat by Penclawdd allowed Tenby to leap-frog over them and into top spot in the table.
Tycroes had first use of the strong wind but could only muster three points from Carwyn Richards as Roy Osborne, Pat Roberts, Gareth Jones, Rob Clark and skipper Chris James led the defensive patters adopted by the Seasiders.
Rogers soon levelled matters after the break but Tycroes went within a whisker of scoring a try and managed a second penalty from Rees to put pressure on the visitors, who were unable to raise a real head of steam until those closing moments, when Tycroes were penalised – and young Rogers held his nerve to slot the vital penalty attempt between the uprights!
Tenby now face an even greater challenge at Heywood Lane as they entertain Penclawdd in a real top of the table clash!
Division Four (West):
Lowly Furnace too hot for the Seagulls
Furnace United 18 - Fishguard & Goodwick 13
Furnace United claimed their first win of the season as they included players from Felinfoel to boost their strength and left Fishguard co-coach Huw Evans commenting that his side were very disappointing on the day.
“We have no grouse about opponents having players on permit from other clubs, “Evans said, “ we have done it ourselves and Furnace showed greater resolve than we did as we missed tackles at key times and were never really in top gear.”
The writing was already on the wall for the Seagulls at half time as they trailed 15-8 and they weren’t allowed to claw their way back enough, despite tries from prop Adrian Squelch and hooker Owain Morgans, alongside an Alun George penalty.
Luke Jenkins and Jamie Herbert scored the Furnace tries, whilst Herbert also contributed a conversion and two penalties to seal a first success of the season for the delighted home team and supporters.
Mariners mauled again
Hendy 96 - Milford Haven 0
Milford Haven’s troubled season continued at Hendy as they battled hard but were always under the cosh against a team that had already scored 40 points against them at The Obs and are seeking promotion.
The Mariners were already 38 points adrift at half time before the floodgates really opened afterwards and there were hat-tricks of tries for full back Steffan Jones, wingers Tom Havard, centre and captain Chris Bowen, plus winger Steffan Howells.
Other Hendy tries came from scrum half Gruff Jones, second row Dylan Williams and flanker Kieran Jones, whilst centre Josh Batcup not only contributed a try but slotted eight conversions to round off another miserable scoreline for the mauled Mariners!

St Clears stymied by Scarlet runners
St Clears 13 - Pembroke 15
Pembroke completed the deserved double over St Clears as they followed their comfortable home win by 30-14 with this tougher tussle as the Carmarthenshire Saints were in contention until the final whistle.
The 5-3 scoreline at half time reflected how close it was going to be as Luke Hanna scored the only try for the Saints and Pembroke’s sole response was a penalty for Lewis Davies as the front row of Sean Willington, Max Hayward and Matthew Pritchard were involved for their side in terms of possession.
James Davies also landed a penalty for Laugharne after the interval but then outstanding second row Tom Powell scored a try for the Scarlets as reward for another superb all-round display and big Dom Colman put in one of his blockbusting charges to push Pembroke to the fore as Davies added a conversion.
But even then the drama wasn’t over because the Saints managed a late try by Rob Frame but as the Scarlets’ hardy band of supporters held their breath the touchline conversion was missed so Pembroke won by those vital two points!
Quins continue to suffer
Bynea 48 - Pembroke Dock Harlequins 5
Pembroke Dock Harlequins’ travel sickness continued as they journeyed to Bynea and conceded almost 50 points whilst managing just five points themselves with an unconverted try by winger Harley Watts.
The Quins were 27-0 at half time before Watts raised their hopes but Bynea tightened the net again and added a further 21 unanswered points despite some hard work up front by Joe Powell and the Quins’ pack.
The Bynea first-half tries came from second row Chris Mills, full back Nicky Morris (2), scrum half Simon Jones, and right wing Jonathan Cronin, who added one conversion.
Others were added in the second period through flanker Andrew Armstrong, centre Wyn Griffiths and a third from Morris, all converted by Cronin as Bynea completed the double, having edged through by 24-22 at Bierspool earlier in the season.
Division Six (West):
Saints stumble against Falls Bay
St Davids 10 - Falls Bay 24
St Davids failed to play with their typical fire at home against Falls Bay and had few complaints about a result described as “very disappointing indeed” by coach Jack Dudley.
“We missed tackles and failed to take early chances.”
The Saints trailed 10-0 at half time but managed a second-half try by Ianto Davies, one of the successes on the day, converted by Craig Challonder to go with a penalty.
But Falls Bay scored tries through centre Steve Barlow ((2), flanker Phil Grove and outside half James Mallon, two of them converted by scrum half Ollie Cosgrove.
