This win sees the Bluebirds move up to fourth in the table, four points behind leaders Caerau (Ely), with four games left to play.

Stunning free kick

Wayne Jones’ Haverfordwest County outfit broke the deadlock in the 35th minute, after a shaky start. Left back Antonio Facciuto fired home a stunning direct free kick that flew in the top corner from 22 yards out. This gave the homesters a slender one-goal cushion at the break.

Down to ten-man

In the 59th minute the Bluebirds doubled the lead when they were awarded a penalty. Right back Ricky Watts was deliberately tripped inside the box by Josh Owen, the latter was issued a straight red card, as O’Sullivan kept his composure to score with the resulting spot-kick.

Nine minutes later and the homesters were awarded a second penalty of the afternoon when centre back Gareth Welsh took out substitute Steffan Davies just inside the area. Welsh was issued a yellow card, as O’Sullivan made the visitors pay as he buried his second penalty of a fruitful second half display.

The Bluebirds pressed strongly as Greg Walters and Jordan Follows fired shots wide as Steffan Davies lobbed the keeper but missed the target. The homesters were unlucky not to add a fourth goal when Sean Pemberton found the back of the net from a corner, but the referee disallowed the effort as he spotted some barging inside the area and awarded the visitors a free kick.

This was three crucial points for the Bluebirds, their next game they play Goytre United, who are one place behind them in the table on Tuesday, 14th April evening, at the Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium, kick off is at 7.30pm
