A new era dawns for The Bluebirds

Haverfordwest County play their vital home game against Bala Town at the Bridge Meadow Stadium on Saturday with the need to halt a run of disappointing results that have seen them plummet into the bottom two of the JD Cymru Premier League.
These set-backs caused popular manager Wayne Jones to end his association with The Bluebirds by resigning over the weekend to huge praise from within the club but also from opposing clubs and others involved at this level in Welsh Football.
Pembs and Jazz in charge on Saturday
Chairman Rob Edwards has had to react swiftly to set the wheels in motion and he has confirmed that former captain and now coach Sean Pemberton will be joined by current player Jazz Richards, who played for Wales in the 2016 European Championships, in temporarily taking the reins.
Also staying as part of the set-up are Gary Richards and James Devonald but will remain in their respective current roles with the academy and goalkeepers.
He confirmed that moves were afoot to appoint an interim manager to take over thereafter until January and perhaps after that if a new manager isn’t appointed by then – and ended local speculation that Andy Legge might temporarily take over, confirming that he hadn’t been in contact with the former Llanelli Town manager.
Interim boss to watch at The Bridge Meadow on Saturday?
But he does hope that the prospective interim manager will be at the Bridge Meadow Stadium to watch the game against Bala Town, who beat The Bluebirds by 6-2 at Maes Tegid in September.
‘The Lakesiders’ are currently sixth, having won five and drawn 6 of their 15 games, but having lost 4-1 at home to The New Saints in their previous match they will be eager to complete the double.
For Haverfordwest County’s injury-ravaged squad it as a chance to redress the fact that they must improve from their one point in their last four matches – but knowing that in such a competitive league it is possible to move quickly up the table.
