Jason Bertorelli scores his first goal for the Bluebirds
Haverfordwest County 1 – Bangor City
A stoppage time belter by Bangor’s Sion Edwards cruelly denied Haverfordwest County victory at the Conygar Bridge Meadow.
The Bluebirds took the lead in the 68th minute when striker Jason Bertorelli pounced for his first goal for the club, but with six minutes of added time played then dwards scored a spectacular effort from an acute angle to salvage a precious point for the Citizens.
Haverfordwest are now within one point of 11th placed Rhyl but remain at least six points from safety following this draw.
The first half was pretty poor with neither team creating any decent goal scoring opportunities, but things certainly livened up in the second period as the Bluebirds put the visitors under pressure.
Bertorelli strikes
Luke Borrelli struck a close range effort just past the post but minutes later midfielder Kieran Howard’s edge of the box shot was parried by keeper Connor Roberts and as quick as a flash striker Bertorelli followed up to hammer home the rebound, but more importantly gave his Haverfordwest the lead.
Substitute Kristian Speake looked threatening when he came on he struck curling 20 yard effort that Roberts tipped away for a corner.
Terrific saves
Wayne Jones’ Bluebirds worked tirelessly throughout then bang on full time Craig Morris pulled off a stunning save to deny Steve Lewis with a point blank header, the Bluebirds keeper also blocked a shot with his legs to deny substitute Adam Cummins when he was through on goal.
At that stage it looked as though lady lucky was on the Bluebirds’ side, but deep in stoppage time Edwards equalised with a stunning goal so it finished all square.
