Haverfordwest County 4 – Ton Pentre 1

Haverfordwest County grabbed two goals in each half to secure a comfortable win against Ton Pentre in their last home game of the season.

Careau Ely are crowned champions, but the Bluebirds are relying on second placed Cardiff Met drawing or losing at Goytre in their last game of the season on 2nd May, and if Haverfordwest County win at Aberdare Town, then they would secure second place and a return to the Welsh Premier.

The Bluebirds broke the deadlock in the 27th minute when striker Steffan Davies headed home, five minutes before the interval Sam Rodon headed in a Chris O’Sullivan corner that gave the Bluebirds a two-goal cushion at the break.

Wayne Jones’ Bluebirds added a third goal in the 65th minute, some neat build up play led to Declan Carroll finishing with a low drive at the far post.

Sent off

The visitors were reduced to ten-men when left back Mark Crutch clattered Carroll and received a second yellow and an early shower.

The Bulldogs pulled a goal back in the 80th minute, when substitute Dan Richard lashed the ball past the outstretched Craig Morris from 12 yards out.

Final say

However, the Bluebirds had the final say as they added a fourth goal, Steffan Williams latching onto a cross from Luke Borelli from the right to seal an excellent three points on the Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium.
