Bluebirds win by odd-goal in five at West End

West End 2 – Haverfordwest County 3

Haverfordwest County progressed into round two of the Welsh Cup after winning at West End by the odd-goal in five.

Both teams  play in Welsh League division one that the Bluebirds are currently sitting top the table and last season’s champions are bottom.

Gripping stuff

Incredibly all the goals that were scored in this gripping cup-tie were scored in the first half.

Bluebirds’ skipper Dale Griffiths gave the visitors the lead when he headed into the net against his former team-mates from inside the box.

However, West End struck back with two quick goals from Rob Shannon and Ryan Thomas to take a 2-1 lead.

Steff strikes

Ashley Curtis side-footed home an equaliser for the Bluebirds before Steffan Williams volleyed home from 12 yards for the winner that was provided by striker Jack Christopher.
