The Directors of Haverfordwest County AFC have recognised the outstanding work in football of their President, Mr. Des Shanklin, over a 50 year period, by naming one of the new hospitality units at their Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium, ‘The Des Shanklin Suite’.
Club Director David Hughes said,
“Des has been a great ambassador of the game, not only in Pembrokeshire but throughout the length and breadth of Wales. He is widely respected by his FAW colleagues and all those footballers that he has been associated with over the years.
“It has been an honour to have him as our Club President for the past fourteen years and we hope that he will be able to continue in this role for as long as he is able”.
Des is also a former President and an elected Life Vice President of the Football Association of Wales
“I am very honoured to have my name on the sparkling new suite,” Des told PembrokeshireSport.co.uk, “and I look forward to sitting in it for a few matches in the forthcoming season.”
