Blues too experienced for gritty Scarlets

Haverfordwest Ladies seeking space for a try

Pembroke Ladies 5 - Haverfordwest Ladies 63

Haverfordwest Ladies proved too experienced at Crickmarren as they ran in 11 tries despite some gritty defence by their counterparts from Haverfordwest – but the loudest cheer of an entertaining game watched by a good crowd was reserved for Isobel Dufresney, the home No 8, as she charged over for the final score of the afternoon.

Haverfordwest were kick-starting their season after a long break, and they gave a start to some new players – but it was Rhian Swift caught the eye with her attacking flair as she claimed four tries for The Blues alongside a brace from Emily Carrington, with others coming from Jana Neumann, Hayley Thomas, Megan Griffiths, Heledd Evans and Lily Arnold, with Elin Williams landing four conversions.

For Pembroke, their props Jan Harvey, Angharad Scourfield and Kirsty Fisher joined hooker Jamie Moseley worked really hard and centre Fi Griffiths tackled well alongside Jade James, who started off as a winger but also played at flanker in the second half.
