Williams and Bevan score a brace apiece in comeback victory at Monmouth Town

A goal brace apiece for Steffan Williams and Ashley Bevan earned Haverfordwest County victory over Monmouth Town at the Sportsground.
Bluebirds’ co-managers Sean Cresser and Chris O’Sullivan were delighted that their team came from 2-1 down to win on the road.
‘Good value for three points’
O’Sullivan said: “I’m quick to tell the lads when they are not doing the business, but fair play the whole squad played well today and we were excellent value for three points.
The Kingfishers took the lead when striker Nick Harry struck, ten minutes later and Williams equalised, Rhys Dalling made good ground on from halfway, and threaded a good ball behind the back four that Williams race onto and drilled home.
But two minutes before half time The Kingfishers were awarded a penalty for shirt pulling inside the box at a corner. Harrhy drilled in from 12 yards to give his team a slender 2-1 cushion at the interval.
Five minutes after the break and the visitors grabbed an equaliser; Williams cut in from the wing and struck a superb rising shot from 18 yards that flew into the back of the net.
Bevan Boy strikes
In the 65
th minute the visitors took the lead, again Dalling assisted setting up striker Ashley Bevan, back from suspension, and the striker made no mistake from inside the box.
Bevan added his second goal of the game in the 83
rd minute, the keeper blocked his first strike, but he buried his effort at the second attempt to secure an excellent win for the Bluebirds.
Next Saturday, October 1
st, Haverfordwest County travel to play Newport YMCA in a Welsh Cup tie, then they have two home games in a row, on Tuesday October 4
th, they entertain Welsh Premier Aberystwyth Town in the MG Nathaniel Cup, kick off 7.45pm, on Saturday, October 8
th, return to league action when they take on Goytre United on the Conygar Bridge Meadow, kick off 2.30pm.
