Two teams from Pembrokeshire have reached the last eight of the West Wales Intermediate Cup after the weather finally let-up on Saturday afternoon.

Hakin United crushed Pwll Athletic
6-1 at The Obs. This fixture had been postponed twice and the cup-tie switched to The Vikings’ Ground. Veteran striker Paul Jones led the way with a superb hat-trick also Ashley Bevan, Jonty Bennett and Leigh Broome added their names to the Vikings’ score sheet. The visitors who play in the Carmarthenshire League First division pulled a late goal back through Gavin Evans.
Tenby thrashed close neighbours Narberth
6-0 at The Clicketts to march into the last eight of this competition that Johnston won last year. Brothers Daryl Mansbridge and Jerome Mansbridge scored two apiece whilst Billy Vaughan and substitute Jordan Richards added further goals. The Bluebirds had goalkeeper John Durbridge and defender Jamie Fleig both sent off in separate incidents as the visitors finished the cup-tie with nine players.
Carew’s tie with Seaside was postponed and they will have to try and play it next week.
St Clears thrashed Hundleton
5-2 to march into the Senior Cup quarter final where they have a mouth-watering home tie against holders Johnston. Steve Thomas scored a brilliant hat-trick for The Saints and Danny Peters and Nick Squire also found the back of the net. Geraint Lewis scored the visitors’ both goals on an afternoon they can have no complaints with the final outcome.
There was only one match played in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division where Goodwick United easily overcame West Dragons
4-0 at Phoenix Park. Rhys Dalling bagged a brace alongside further goals scored by Lewis Banks and Jamie Evans.
Three matches scheduled in the first division Monkton Swifts v Merlins Bridge; Saundersfoot Sports v Johnston and St Ishmaels v Neyland were all postponed.
All other top games were cancelled due to the horrendous weather that has struck the county this week, but at least this Saturday was not a complete washout, and there was some gripping cup ties and league action for local fans to finally get out of their homes and watch.
