First Division:

Neyland ensure they are in the hunt for silverware

Neyland (123 for 3) beat Whitland (120 all out) by 7 wickets

Umpires: Dave Brandon & Steve Blowes
Scorers: John Laugharne & Jenny Scourfield-Davies

Neyland took a step towards their aim of pouching the division one title as they comfortably accounted for a much-weakened Whitland side which opted to bat first but were unable to set a large enough target to really challenge a powerful home batting line-up.

Only Dai Lee (17) skipper Iestyn Scourfield (25) and Connor Bowen (seven boundaries in his 46) ever really got going against slow bowlers Gary Lloyd (2 for 6) and Andrew Miller (3 for 21), ably assisted by Geraint Rees (2 for 25), Nathan Banner (1 for 39), Scott Jones (1 for 16) and Nick Koomen (1 for 4).

Neyland lost a couple of early wickets to Ben Harvey (2 for 35) and then Connor Bowen (for 18) but Gregg Miller (nine fours in a classy 45) and Nathen Banner (34 not out, including five boundaries) shared a partnership before Patrick Bellerby came in with rain again threatening and belted an unbeaten 25 in only 10 deliveries to insure Sean Hannon's Boys made sure of a fighting chance of silverware on the final day of the season!

Kilgetty hang on – but Cresselly claim massive points haul in quest for the double

Kilgetty (123 for 9) drew with Cresselly (205 for 9)

Umpires: John Williams & Richard Scriven
Scorers: Hazel Poole & Teagan Cartwright

Cresselly were unable to winkle out the final pair of Kilgetty batsmen in their reduced-over match at Kingsmoor but pouched a plentiful supply of bonus points that ensured their involvement in the race for the title next Saturday as rivals Neyland and Haverfordwest do battle against each other.

Each side had only 30 0vers and after being invited to bat first Cresselly moved to 63 for 2 by the 11th over but then moved up several gears as Dan Sutton read a run glut with a super-charged innings of 104 not out (11 fours and two sixes), supported by cameos from Ryan Lewis (14), Iwan Izzard (16),  Alex Bailey (34) and Simon Cole (20) as Ross Hardy (1 for 50), Kurtis Marsh 92 for 48), Christian Phillips (1for 32) and Richard Gwyther (1 for 18) were the Kilgetty wicket takers.

The home side limped to 45 for 4 in reply but with Kyle Marsh (38), Toby Poole (27), Daf Bevan (24) and Christian Phillips (18) showed Kilgetty's willingness to battle hard.

Sam Harts (2 for 28), Dan James (2 for 23), Ryan Lewis (3 for  26) and Simon Cole (1for 41) were the Cresselly strike bowlers as Kilgetty hung on - but they are still in the relegation tussle whilst Cresselly’s hope of a league and Harrison-Allen Bowl double are in their own hands on Saturday!

Town frustrated by rain with victory in sight

Haverfordwest (155 for 3) – match abandoned against Llangwm (197 all out)

Umpires: Trefor Evans & Richard Merriman
Scorer: Jayne Cole

Joseph Kiff batted well for LlangwmTable-topping Haverfordwest were left to curse the weather as their home match with Johnston was abandoned with their needing only 42 runs in over 25 overs, with seven wickets still in hand.

The Town will look back on their inability to bowl Llangwm out cheaply after Adam James and Johnny White had reduced the visitors to 28 for 3 as Noah Davies, Matthew Kiff and Luke Brock all departed cheaply - but then Joseph Kiff and skipper Ollie Davies turned the tables in a stand of 99 before Davies departed for 42 (four fours).

Joseph Kiff batted throughout the innings and struck 15 fours and a six in his magnificent 119 not out as James returned figures of 5 for 55 alongside Kieran O'Connor (3 for 46) and White (1 for 18) as the Haverfordwest wicket-takers.

The Town suffered a major set-back as they lost ace run-getter Simon Holliday for 4 runs but Huw Scriven hit a strong 38 before they called a halt for rain - but the teams went back out and Adam James livened matters up with 48 from only 22 deliveries, including four maximums.

Ben Field anchored the innings with 41 not out in cahoots with Lee Summons (17 not out)   as they sped to 155 for 3 in only 20.1 overs - but then came that return of the rain, which could ultimately deny Danny Potter's team the silverware!

Burton keep safety flame burning

Johnston (48 all out) lost to Burton (52 for 2) by 8 wickets

Umpires: Denis Chiffi & Simon Richards
Scorers: Gracie Morris & Dennis Alderman

Burton made the short journey to already-doomed Johnston and enhanced their slim chances of following the Glebelands Gang in making the 'dreaded drop' into division two with an easy win.

They put Johnston in to bat and shot them out for only 48 as only Keegan Codd (12) managed double figures and Chris Goodridge was next on the top scorers with nine runs, with Morgan Scale's slow bowling earning him fine figures of 5 for 11 alongside his uncle, Johnny Scale, with 4 for 22 as Luke Hayman chipped in with 1-12.

When Johnston fielded there was a wicket apiece for Hafiz Farooq and Kevin Roberts but Toby Hayman steered Burton to an easy win with 30 not out.
