Ten-man Bluebirds suffer defeat at Pontypridd United

Pontypridd United came from behind to secure a hard fought victory against ten-man Haverfordwest County at USW Sport Park, Treforest.
Before this clash the Dragons had taken four points from a possible six against the Bluebirds, they won 3-2 at home and drew 1-1 at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium.
The Dragons secured victory after they went behind to a neat Jazz Richards header, Jarrad Wright equalised, shortly after the interval the visitors were reduced to ten men as defender Oscar Borg was sent off, matters got worse for the visitors as former Bluebird Kieran Lewis struck a stunning freekick to clinch the points.
Ben Fawcett had a great opportunity to open the scoring for the visitors, as he raced cleared his shot narrowly missed the target. Minutes later Richards’ intelligent ball over the top fell to Fawcett who could get his shot away after the Dragons’ defended well.
At the other end Ben Ahmun’s shot is brilliantly blocked to deny the hosts. In the 25
th minute the visitors took the lead as Jordan Davies’ by-line cross is met by a glanced home by Jazz Richards, however it was short-lived as Jarred Wright equalised thanks to a neat Kieran Lewis assist.
Shortly after the break the visitors were reduced to ten-men as defender Oscar Borg was shown a straight red card for bringing down Ahmed, from the resultant free kick Lewis struck an absolute beauty to put the Dragons in control, minutes later Henry Jones struck from distance which keeper Ratcliffe comfortably gathered.
There were no further goals as Tony Pennock’s men will be disappointed with the final result, but will be looking to return to winning ways next time out.
