Dale eyes up British eliminator fight
Professional welterweight boxer Dale Evans is currently training hard to try and set-up a possible shot at a British eliminator fight in May after his latest televised success.

Evans, 22, who trains at Merlins Bridge ABC, Haverfordwest, three times a week under Graham Brockway, also travels three times a week to spar with former world champion Gavin Rees, in Cardiff.
Desperate for support
Last year’s ‘Prizefighter’ finalist who works full-time, is desperate for the backing of a generous business or sponsor to help him with his expensive travelling costs in his quest to win a coveted British title in the future.
“For me to have any chance of winning an eliminator and go on to win the British title I have to spar with Gavin and his quality boxers in Cardiff,” said Dale.
“I work hard, train hard and fight hard. I’m determined and focused to reach my goal.”
Sky Sports’ appearance
The orthodox-style boxer has had ten fights since turning professional in October 2011. His fight record currently reads eight wins, three by knock-out, one draw and one defeat.
His last fight was earlier this month when he narrowly won 77-76 against Erick Ochieng, over eight three-minute rounds at the Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff, a cracking contest which was televised on Sky Sports and had Dale interviewed by the pundits afterwards.
His only loss was against Glenn Foot in the ‘Prizefighter’ final in January last year, which was held at the Civic Hall, Wolverhampton, West Midlands.
British Title hopes
Evans is not taking part in this year’s ‘Prizefighter’ Welterweight Tournament, as he is solely concentrating on having a British eliminator fight against an unnamed opponent, who will be ranked in the UK top ten.
A possible favourite will be Frankie Gavin, of Birmingham, a southpaw who won gold at the 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships. The current British welterweight champion is Kell Brook, of Sheffield, who is currently undefeated.
