St Ishmaels 2nds' cup hero was goalkeeper Andy Pawlett who pulled off two cracking saves in the penalty shootout against St Florence to secure The Mice the silverware at Monkton Lane.

There were no goals after normal and extra time, but keeper Pawlett pulled off two crucial saves to earn Tish 2nds the silverware.

St Florence were crowned Division 4 league champions and came into this final looking to secure the league and cup double.

In the previous league encounters this season it finished 2-2 at Tish, but St Florence won 4-0 at home.

However, it was Tish who finished fifth in the table who looked the more likely to break the deadlock. Adam Davies missed a one-on-one with keeper Liam Bowen.

Tish continued to press but went close to scoring as Dylan Ninnis missed from a rebound, Andre Algieri drilled a couple of efforts wide, plus veteran Marc Devonald had two decent chances with headers inside the box.

After 120 minutes couldn’t separate them so it was all down to dreaded penalties which Tish proved triumphant as Adam Davies, Marc Devonald, Arron Johnson, Jimmy Cockburn (scored with retake), and Andy Howells all found the back of the net.

However, the cup hero was keeper Pawlett who pulled off two crucial saves, the third and sixth, to secure victory for delighted Tish 2nds who ended the season on a real high.
