There was an official presentation recently to members of the Pembrokeshire Schools under 11s squad who took part in the WSFA Tom Yeoman's event.
Matches were played against other schools areas in South Wales (such as Afan Nedd, Swansea, Aberystwyth, and Carmarthen), but although results were promising the team failed to qualify for the second season running. This was disappointing as Pembrokeshire were joint best team of the competition in 2012.
Cardiff City’s Dylan presents the awards
Awards were made to all 30 players who had taken part in the matches over the season and County School boot bags were presented to the squad members by Dylan Rees (Cardiff City FC), who was himself a previous member of the Pembrokeshire Schools Under 11 Squad.
County Schools’ coach Angie Nicholls thanked all the players and their parents for their constant support over the season and Charles Davies for the use of their facilities at Heatherton .
Trials taking place and sponsorship sought
Trials have already taken place for next season and the new squad has very recently been announced whilst several of last season’s squad have been selected for Haverfordwest Academy u12’s in the new 9 v 9 competition.
Pembrokeshire Schools FA is seeking sponsorship for the coming season to sustain the quality programme for young players being educated within the county. Interested persons/organisations are invited to contact Angie Nicholls (Secretary of Pembrokeshire Schools FA) on 07760474502.
Pembs Schools FA would like to thank Lyn Thomas of Swansea City for donating a signed Swansea football for a raffle which was won by player Kieran King.
