Boxing News with Fraser Watson:

Mikey O'Sullivan got his professional boxing career off to a winning start on Saturday night as the Cardigan ABC product dominated his four-round bout with Jose Manuel Perez in Cardiff.

And in doing so, the 19-year-old completed a brilliant weekend for his former club, with twins Ioan and Garan Croft having continued their own perfect pro records on Friday in Altrincham.

Competing at super featherweight level, O'Sullivan opened the undercard for the Lauren Price v Stephanie Pineiro bout, and was on the front foot from the off as he easily out-maneuvered his Costa Rican opponent.

Perez was in his 47th pro fight but looked spent by the final round after O'Sullivan landed some heavy blows to the body, and with his family in attendance, the teenager was given every round by the judges to take the verdict by 40-32.

Perfect start in front of Boxer boss

In front of Ben Shalom, it was the perfect start to his career with BOXXER, as he fulfilled his pre-fight vow to produce an 'explosive' debut at the Utilita Arena.

Speaking to Pembrokeshire Sport on Sunday, O'Sullivan said: "It was an amazing feeling  walking out to the ring - to be on the undercard for Lauren Price on debut was a dream come true really.

"He was a tough opponent and he's been in the game a while. I think if there was a few more rounds, I could have broken him down a little bit more - but I'm happy and the support I had from friends and family was great. I could hear them shouting my name as I walked to the ring and that all goes a long way."

Ioan Croft

Ioan keeps winning . . .

Just 24 hours earlier, the Croft boys had continued their winning form as they marked their first show with Matchroom in style.

Fighting on the undercard of the Glenn Byrne and William Crolla bout, the 24-year-old pair both took unanimous points verdicts as a loud travelling band of fans from North Pembrokeshire made themselves heard throughout.

It was southpaw Ioan who opened the show, dominating Serbian fighter Novak Radulovic over eight rounds. It was the first time the Commonwealth Games gold medallist has fought over that distance at professional level, and he rarely looked troubled.

Middleweight Croft rocked his opponent in the fourth round but to his credit, the durable Radulovic avoided the deck, as he did in the fifth after a vicious body assault from the Welshman.

In the sixth Radulovic briefly rallied, but although the pace slowed in the closing stages Croft appeared in full control as he took every round on the judges' scorecards for his sixth pro victory.

Garan Croft

. . . And so does Garan!

Garan  soon followed suit in his super welterweight bout, although was given a much sterner test by England's Marco Simmonds.

Croft was far superior in terms of his movement and footwork, but his offence was frequently met with ripostes from Simmonds, who managed to cut the 24-year-old above his eye.

However, it wasn't enough to stop Croft from also going 6-0 by with a comprehensive 80-72 verdict, and six weeks after he signed them for Matchroom,  boss Eddie Hearn was ringside to witness the latest steps forward in the careers of both brothers.

"It was a perfect fight at this stage of my career," said Garan afterwards.

"To get eight fast-paced rounds in was what I needed. After the first four rounds I landed some big shots and I did half-expect him (Simmonds) to fall back a bit but if anything, he forced me to up my levels again.

"I was keeping an eye on Ioan's fight as I warmed up and it was good performance from him as well."
