The Ladies Indoor League got under way at the Neyland Community Hub and will be played every Monday and Wednesday evening throughout February – and it was Hook and Pembroke Dock who both beat St Ishmaels and Pembroke to get off to a great start – but with both other teams showing they are going to enjoy their season!
Match One: Pembroke Dock (67 for 2) beat Pembroke (46 all out) by 21 runs
Pembroke Dock Ladies got their new indoor season as the beat their counterparts from Pembroke in a local derby where Katy Griffiths led The Dock by example with runs and wickets.
Katy top scored with 27 before retiring, assisted by Holly Taylor and Extras, in a score that might have ben less than they had hoped for as Ginny Davies, Karen Evans and Summer Russant bowled well for Pembroke.
But Pembroke lost early wickets as only Summer and extras managed double figures so they fell 22 runs short as Kay Griff grabbed two wickets and there was one apiece for Nancy Bari and the mother/daughter duo of Abi and Poppy Price.

Match Two: Hook (72 for 1) beat Pembroke (62 all out) by 10 runs
Hook opened their new season with victory over Pembroke, who deserve every credit for pushing their rivals all the way before running out of wickets after they had looked well-placed.
Kate Farr and Tia Rees both achieved the retirement score to get Hook off to a flier but Pembroke stopped the other Hook batters from running away with things as Sam Rossiter came in late to manage a few runs but running out of time against tight bowling from Bobby Neale and Chloe Jones.
Then Bobbie and Chloe were also the pick of Pembroke’s batting but Hook’s experience told as there were wickets apiece by Maisy Davies, Freya Griffiths and Sam Rossiter as Maddie Potter also bowled two good overs.
Hook Batting: Kate Farr 27*, Tia Rees 26* Sam Rossiter 10*

Match Three: Pembroke Dock (93 for 2) beat St Ishmaels (79 for 5) by 14 runs
There were plenty of runs when St Ishmaels and Pembroke Dock played, with The Dock batting first and reaching a respectable final tally thanks again to Katy Griffiths, again unbeaten, Abi Price, Katy Gibbins and Martha Bhari , who all made useful contributions, despite he bowling efforts of Lizi Picton, bravely battling away with a sore shoulder, and her daughter Lola Phillips.
But Tish struggled with the bat, other than Cath Orton, who looked a class act as she took Tish close but ran out of time with the evening’s top score. Tish were also helped by 21 extras but there was a wicket each for Katy, Abi and Martha as they helped The Dock to their second success.
Pembroke Dock Batting: Katy Griffiths 27*, Abi Price 17, Katy Gibbins 19, Martha Bhari 12*, Extras 14

Linzi Picton was again to the fore for Tish as daughter Lola also retired so that they had an excellent start, and there were 14 extras alongside double figures for Sabrina Sweeny as Kacey claimed two wickets and Maisy and Sam also claimed a victim.
But Kacey and Kate got Hook off to an even quicker start before retiring and a winning total was reached via 10 extras, despite useful bowling by Cath Orton, Rachael McGuire and Lucy Patterson.
