Ladies Cricket - Divisions 1 and 2 - 15th June 26
Ladies cricket hit by bad weather again
The weather was again unkind to Ladies’ Cricket this week as only half of the games completed: two of them in the first division and only one in the second division.
DIVISION ONE:
Cresselly benefit as The Town choose to bat first

Haverfordwest (47 all out) lost to Cresselly (48 for 2) by 8 wickets
Haverfordwest elected to bat first after winning the toss against league leaders Cresselly, who claimed a vital victory as they bowled The Town Ladies out cheaply and then strolled home in less than half their allocated overs, whilst losing only two wickets.
Lyn Ward was the only home batter to reach double figures as Lucy Johnson again led the Cresselly bowling with three wickets for next to nothing.
As the weather began to close in Helen McNamara was a not out batter for Cresselly and Lowis Hughes was the pick of the Haverfordwest bowlers.
Haverfordwest Batting: Lyn Ward 19
Cresselly Bowling: Lucy Johnson 3-2
Cresselly Batting: Helen McNamara 12*
Haverfordwest Bowling: Lowis Hughes 1-15
Burton bag victory to defy the weather
St Ishmaels (49 all) out lost to Burton (57 for 3) by 7 wickets

Tish’s brave attempt at applying pressure, by batting first. after winning the toss, backfired as Burton bowled and fielded so well that only Cath Orton and Linzi Picton achieved double figures as Olivia James, Llanelli Scale, Becca Barton and Yazmin Kiff got amongst the wickets for the visitors.
Then Elaine Scale, who now plays alongside some grand-children, continued to pile on the runs before she reached the retirement score, with Yazmin also unbeaten as the mother daughter duo of Rachel and Rachel McGuire claimed the three burton wickets to fall as they sped home in only 8.4 of their allocated 20 overs.
St Ishmaels Batting: Cath Orton 16, Linzi Picton 11
Burton Bowling: Olivia James 2-10, Llawella Scale 3-12, Becca Barton 3-12. Yazmin Kiff 1-4
Burton Batting: Elaine Scale 25*, Yazmin Kiff 21*
St Ishmaels Bowling: Lily McGuire 2-18, Rachel McGuire 1-27
Umpires: Johnny Lewis & Richard James
Scorers: Wendy Bradshaw & Cath Morgan
Pembroke Dock (117 for 2) v Hook (Did not bat - Match abandoned - rain)
The match between Pembroke Dock and Hook was nicely balanced at the half way stage as The Dock were asked to bat first and rattled up a very useful tally thanks to retirement scores by Katie Gibbins, Katie Griffiths and Sian James.
Tia Rees and Sam Rossiter had taken a wicket apiece but then the weather intervened and sadly what was set up to be a good finish was prematurely ended!
DIVISION TWO:
Pembroke edge home in low-scoring tussle against Saundersfoot
Pembroke (78 for 6) beat Saundersfoot (55 all out) by 23 runs
Pembroke were asked to bat first against Saundersfoot and only managed a lower-than-average score - but then bowled and fielded well to inflict defeat on a team looking to be one of the front-runners in the promotion race.
Jodie Lewis was again the top Pembroke scorer before retiring and Bobby Neale supported with the bat before showing her bowling prowess with a match-winning performance.
Katie Joseph was the pick of the Seasiders’ bowling attack but then only Madi Neye found any form with the bat as Jodie rounded off a good all-round performance in support of Bobbie’s four-wicket haul!
In the final analysis, this defeat leaves Saundersfoot six points adrift of Whitland, but having played one game more, with Pembroke moving quietly into third spot as their reward.
Pembroke Batting: Jodie Lewis 28*, Bobbie Neale 12
Saundersfoot Bowling: Kate Joseph 1-8
Saundersfoot Batting: Madi Neye 17*
Pembroke Bowling: Bobbie Neale 4-4, Jodie Lewis 2-12
