Seasiders slip through in tight tussle

 

Pembroke 95 for 5 (9) lost to Saundersfoot 102 all out (17) by 7 runs

 


Saundersfoot showed their determination to do well as they battled their way to a narrow win over Pembroke, who were always in the hunt for victory thanks to excellent batting performances by Jamie Moseley and Kim Barnes alongside a terrific five-wicket haul by Bobbie Neale,
 
But no-one else from the Treleet Crowd was able join them in a decent contribution as The Seasiders held on for another win.
 
Talia Ennis was again the star of Saundersfoot’s batting line-up as she played some lovely scoring shots in her two spells at the wicket, ably assisted by Madi Neyland and 18 extras as Bobbie spear-headed the Pembroke bowling as Jodie Lewis and Summer shared the rest of the wickets.
 
Then ace batters Jamie Moseley and Kim Barnes retired undefeated to put Pembroke on the road to what seemed a comfortable win, assisted by a massive number of extras - but from 73 without loss they lost their way and will look back on this game against the high-flying Seasiders as a game they might have won.

Llangwm too strong for lowly Carew

 

Carew 65 for 5 (3) lost to Llangwm 67 for 0 (15) by 10 wickets

 


Llangwm stayed in the hunt for second place with a convincing ten-wicket win over Carew, who batted first and mustered their final tally thanks to Lilly Cole and Jacquie Goodwin – but prevented from adding more as all the Llangwm bowlers grabbed a wicket, supported by good fielding.
 

It was never likely to stretch Llangwm’s experienced batting order and so it proved as  Zoe Brick and Lilly Thomas both reached the retirement requirement and were worthy inners having used only 8.5 of their 20 overs!
 

Now Llangwm face already-decided section winners Whitland on the last day of the season, knowing that only a good win will help them leap-frog Saundersfoot.

Doves Seconds continue to do well

 

Cresselly 2nds 89 for 6 (17) beat Kilgetty 79 for 6 (6) by 10 runs

 


Cresselly Seconds narrow win over Kilgetty was their sixth of the season and as a result they could still finish second as they entertain Pembroke in their final match of their first campaign, which could decide who takes the runners-up spot.
 
Kilgetty won the toss and elected to field first and good bowling by Cara and Libby Evans, who shared four wickets saw the visitors reach an ordinary sort of score thanks to the efforts of Phoenix Phillips, assisted by Lowis Howlett-Dyer.
 
But home hopes were eventually dented as Teagan Cartwright again bowled well for The Doves, supported by Imogen Hicks, against Kilgetty top scorers Phoebe Freeman and Ceri Jones, but no-one else managed the vital double figures that might have given them their fourth win.
