Rain ruins Ladies programme – but Llangwm battle to first success

The thunderstorms and heavy rain swept across the county to wipe out all three matches in division One and two of the games in Division Three – but it missed out Pill Parks and Llangwm Ladies beat their counterparts from Saundersfoot to record their first win since their restart.

Division Two:

Pam helps power Llangwm to opening victory

Saundersfoot Ladies 100 for 6 (8) lost to Llangwm Ladies 101 for 6  (18) by 4 wickets.

Umpires: Huw Brock and Chris Parker
Scorers: Sara Jeffrey and Sarah Mansbridge

Pam Asson An excellent match at Pill Parks went the whole distance after Llangwm had asked Saundersfoot to bat first, held them to a  decent score of 106 and then managed to chase it down in their final over.

For The Lady Seasiders there were useful knocks from Madi Neye (24) and Jen Thomas (18) but their opponents fielded well in support of bowlers Natalie White (2 for 12), Daisy Brick (1 for 11), Zoe Brick (1 for 12) and Rosie Thomas (1 for 20) so that at the half-way stage it was still anybody’s game.

And so it proved because although Llangwm skipper Pam Asson scored her second undefeated 25 in successive weeks and had support from Zoe Brick (14) they also lost wickets as Madi Neye (1 for 13), Nell Mackay (2 for 16), Talia Ennis (2 for 29) and Charlotte Lord (1 for 23) but eased home late on for a very welcome 18 points from their first success!
